I'll probably still go to the theater. For one thing I don't think Peacock is 4k and/or HDR.

I resubscribed a week or so ago, most of the "in theaters now" titles are 4K. A few (very, very few) titles are HDR on Peacock, but they do have HDR capabilities now.

That's good to know. I've only watched a few older movies on there so didn't care. Was thinking of watching The Black Phone but not if it was garbage quality.

Which are in HDR? Black Phone and The last Halloween weren't.

They only introduced 4K & HDR at the end of August, so there's still not much to choose from. Black Phone and the new Jurassic World movie are in 4K but not HDR. It's a weird crapshoot for HDR, mostly older titles at the moment. Some Fast and the Furious movies, Shrek, a Kevin Bacon movie (You Should Have Left), etc. They/Them had HDR but they removed it, wonder if their apps aren't handling it well.

I have no problem admitting my love and major bias for this franchise, but this and Kills might be worse than 5, 6, Resurrection and Zombie's movies. It's a fun movie with a super unoriginal "twist" for people who aren't well versed in horror, but it's safe to assume most are going to find this to be a majorly mixed bag like Kills was.

I think this was one of the worst Halloween movies, but I'd still put it above Zombie's movies (especially 2) and Resurrection. I can't believe how badly this trilogy fell apart, the original was a really good movie overall and then kills came out and was a huge mess and now this. I know Kills was Michael's movie and this one was supposed to be more about Laurie but damn they treated Michael as an afterthought. I guess maybe they wanted to do that because Laurie was barely in the last movie? I don't know but other than a couple of cool things here and there this seemed more like a CW show about Haddonfield than it did a Halloween movie. That opening scene was pretty good though even though you could see it coming.

Jeremy was a brat. Pretty much the highlight of the movie.

Trying to paint Haddonfield with lively characters doesn't work here. It always seems forced.

I think ultimately fans want to see Michael kill. I'm not sure how different you can make it each iteration, but this one was different. I appreciate the attempt. Maybe this will convince future installments to stay away from being to different.

This isn't the end of the Halloween franchise.
