They are turning it into a service based game so what she said is right, they don't think the existing fanbase is enough and they are right to a degree because that audience has been shrinking with each title, especially since 343 took over. When you are going for a service based game designed around backend monetization and keeping people subscribed you want it to grow, you lose a lot of money up front not selling it at full retail price.

Start watching at 6:36, sounds like Ross was forced out and the family thing was likely to save face, hopefully that's true, would be much better that she just lost her job because she wasn't good at it than to have her leave because someone she loves is sick enough to need her by their side. It just seems awfully convenient that a week or two after twitter blew up to have her fired she was gone.

I think she said she hoped to stay through the winter update? She was on the way out, this just expedited it.

The mismanagement of of this game has been extremely upsetting because the game itself is pretty good. There's a lot a needs to be fixed that has been broken since release, like VRR on Xbox and PC that still remains to be broken, and no online CO-OP yet and the canceling of split screen CO-OP altogether even though it's accessible by a bug is just laughable.

Or the fact that if you exit the game, maybe watch some YouTube and then go back to playing it it’ll prevent you from playing because it says it’s “offline” and then you have to quit and start it back up again.

I’m sure the writing was appearing on the wall, slowly being transcribed by grunts… maybe as soon as they brought Jason aboard. As she’s kept out of the light since then, maybe even earlier.

But then again she was the one who brought on Jason and Bertone back to halo. So in a way she brought the positivity/hopium to right some wrongs.

And the fact that now three people are tasked with what one person had to do shows it’s not an easy task.

Ironically this is the flagship title for a company who's motto has been about "player engagement" and it launched without the most basic engagement features like player progression. It is also seems like that feature was a low priority post launch too as we have barely heard about it.

Even Bonnie's comments about getting a broader audience make little sense when her game launches missing basic and expected features.

And this is the most puzzling to me, it is a FLAGSHIP title and is the one in the worst overall shape in MS' arsenal.

The fact that Bonnie Ross went on stage years ago and said promised that every FPS after H5 would include splitscreen, and then to outright cancel splitscreen in Infinite even though it seems to be in the game and actually work quite well via a glitch, is just......I don't have the words for it. I am glad that Ross is out at 343, Halo MCC was a dumpster fire during it's release and years afterwards, and Infinite is also a dumpster fire.

, and Infinite is also a dumpster fire.
This is true of most established franchises that went live service...in fact, it has destroyed all the big FPS games.

If Bonnie wanted a broader audience why not have gone a safer way. Just made a good Halo for the current fans and then do a F2P BR, maybe even make it multiplatform, to help capture that broader audience.

Can you imagine the state this game was in back when they were going to release in 2020? Lol. Boggles the mind.

Lol. Didn't know she promised that. That does make the cancellation worse.

But you also have a foot fetish. So, your opinions are questionable at best. :tounge:

Hasn't met financial expectations either... What was the budget for this title again? Few hundred million?

MS never announced the budget actually. Some random website that got translated and said it was a $500 million budget, but Frankie from 343 swooped in and said "buzzz....wrong".

Where did MS mention that Halo hasn't met their financial expectations? The last thing they told us is that they had a record number of players, exceeding 20 million. I didn't see them announce any Halo stats after that.
