Nope that isn't a date.
It's clearly a time frame.
What a joke this game/343 is.
Of course it’s a date range, it’s clearly the dates for the season. It arrives on November 8th for the winter season.

Update was 11 GB for me. I browsed around a bit and jumped into a couple of premade Forge maps, which looked great. Hopefully they can implement a playlist with Forge creations soon - I think it will breathe a lot of new life into the game.

Well a Customs Browser is coming next year, so that'll breath a life into the game when that arrives.

Ray-tracing shadows. That going to make a big diff in PQ?
I love good shadows- they make a big difference to me (why I play quality mode with HFR in God of War), and honestly I find the Screen space reflections in Halo to be some of the best out there, so the hit to performance from reflections wouldn't be worth it. Would be nice though.

I think ray tracing in general is way too taxing in games for current gen consoles. I would rather have the SSR's you mentioned and better performance too.

More evidence that more platforms means more time and resources needed to optimize the game.

"Interestingly, Baron also brings up a topic that's been fairly hot over the past few months - having to make games work for "all platforms". Although the conversation around that has been centred on the Xbox Series S in recent months, in this case it seems likely that Baron means the Xbox One version of the game.

Baron said, "There are things where, even if we have just a few crashes — I'm not sure what platform those players were playing on, because we would have to support all platforms — that's not maybe even something we can even get through our certification passes."

Depends on the raytracing. There are forms that don't cost too much while still making it look much better. Like GI and Shadows. Gears 5 used GI at 60fps and it definitely made it look better. High quality SSR gets the job done most of the time.
