I remember a month ago rumors were trying to say that Fable was switching from Forzatech to Unreal 5 and production was starting over. That got debunked. Can't ever believe the internet trolls.
 
You know, I loved the Halo Infinite campaign. I have no interest in the multiplayer, so that never tainted my experience. Though I understand they dropped the ball there. But, if the rumors are true, and they are not making any campaign DLC, that blows. I was looking forward to the DLC.

To me, them pivoting to a new engine, makes it seems like we won't see another Halo campaign for 5+ years. It's not like there is a File > Import > Slipspace Engine menu in Unreal 5 that will carry everything over for them to make a campaign in a more timely fashion. I assume they will have to recreate every asset.

The battle royale has been in development for over a year, so I'm assuming many of the assets they use there could be used for a campaign.
 
I cant see them making campaign in unreal, maybe mp, but probably for whatever tatanka is? But then it kinda wouldn’t make sense, certain affinity is already well versed in all iterations of halo engines (even before it was used for halo)….but then again, they’ve also used whatever cod engine/quake and most recently id tech for doom. So they could, more than likely, make a halo universe game with unreal.

Reset would do this IP good after Infinite. I still have to play the campaign.
Infinite is supposed to be their “soft reboot”…a reset, I dono, maybe. Or maybe it’ll be for a side story/spin-off.
 
Hmm....then how would you know it needs to be reset? The campaign is one of their better campaigns to date, even better than Halo 3 ODST.

Just based on what I've played from the MP. The content is bare bones and taking way too long to come out compared to other live games.

When was the last time Halo user numbers died down so quickly? Therefore having some new upper management steering the future would be good.

Yeah, the MP is lacking endless content. But you need to play the campaign, which is MEAT.
 
I have heard mixed reviews so we will see. As long as it's great fun with friends I have no complaints.
Both are fun, content from 343 for mp is lacking (forge modes/maps tho), but gameplay in both a fun. If ya can’t find anyone to play with just jump in a custom game, that you’re familiar with, in the browser and try it. I’m sure people here would hop on to play with ya, I would.
 
I meant for the story. Mechanics wise it is great.

On another note, looks like things are even more messed up at Halo development land...


Wasn’t there already talk about how 343 used unreal for quick visualization?

I wouldn’t be surprised for the next story already being in the works. If you go by what’s been done before they were in three year dev cycles, for all previous halos…maybe next year we’ll hear and see confirmation?
