Good call? I think this COVID is a scapegoat on their poor development. This game was in development for 5 years and this is the 5th year to get this game ready for launch and the demo just showed us DogSh!t graphics. First of all, those who were asking for that Halo original art style need to STFU because as you can see it look like crap. Also, what the hell they did the last 4 years?

They f*** this up with that crappy art style and they got burned for it, after this Halo 343 needs to be let go and everyone else beside O'Conner and get new blood in there.

I prefer this art style. They just need to make it look better.

It’s interesting how much people seem to downplay the impact Covid has had. Our court systems don’t even operate the same, let alone follow what used to be a full schedule before Covid happened. The web based hearings are often a train wreck, and we’ve even had some resulting in mistrials. Our staffings and conference calls have often been twice as long as they used to be.

While, I think there have been more issues with Halo Infinite then this, Covid has made an impact for sure.

Happiest I've ever been about a delay. It speaks for a different Xbox 1st party. Whether or not 343 can deliver on expectations isn't something I'll predict. This delay will hurt Xbox Series launch. It's hurts Game Pass goals. It will crush whatever projections the Xbox division has for this fiscal year. That's why this move was shocking. Never would've expected it from the previous Windows led division. They would've pushed a game out, got their sales and tried to patch in or complete the game later. This difference in philosophy speaks well to the rest of their first party. If they're going to take this beating with their #1 title, it's an indication that their other big games will release when ready instead of release under-cooked.

I don't want this thread to go off track, but which PS5 game has you sold for launch? I'm thinking about finally getting a PC, but it seems a bit expensive for the equivalent power of these.

Mostly its because of the Miles Morales Spidey and Godfall games to only appear on PS5. Although admittedly Godfall isn't looking as good as it first did but still seems like it could be a fun launch title. Plus I figure since all the third party games will also make it there with improvements suited to the new hardware its a simple answer to my gaming needs. I don't have to worry so much about chasing down both consoles since it'll be a little while before the XSX has its premier titles available. I still plan on preordering both consoles just in case supplies are limited and I can't get a PS5 at launch. I know it sounds bad but the XSX is my Plan B.

If worst case scenario comes to pass and I can't get either new console at launch. I'll still be a Xbox gamer since that'll mean I need to get Cyberpunk for my X1X.

For the record I'm not happy about this mess for the Xbox. I mean, I really wanted Halo to deliver it just needs more time in the oven. I'm pretty sure the devs won't show it again until they added increased visual polish to wow us. As we all seen in that footage shown the potential is there. The gameplay looked good, the whole presentation is what needs spicing up.

Lol, if this is the argument to be had, then one can easily make the assertion that delaying for another few months to a year will make little difference then. If the last year can’t realistically have an impact, then adding some additional time equal to or less than that amount can’t realistically have one either. Who knows, maybe that’s true.

Those games looked good every time they were showed.

so did the previous two trailers, for infinite, before this last one :p

they should do a technical deep dive of them and compare to this latest one.

in my world infinite would be the botw equivalent, hopefully filling the world with tony little details that would make you go “oh hey, look at that, didn’t notice that before. Imagine making weapons in infinite like one makes food in botw :p only with the remains of fallen covies/banished and or alien rhinos

I forgot that we only trust randoms on Twitter here at Union. I thought we listened to people with credibility but that damn Kvally stopped sending me memos updating me on this stuff. I'm going to kick that guy in the groin next time I see him.
What are you talking about?

OKay, I am just saying 4 years before COVID and the 5th year it looks like ass to me as an excuse. But hey, everyone is an armchair analyst.

Yeah the fake footage :really:

No they should never show that real footage again.
Let this wound heel.

That's not really true. I remember when they promised 60fps and everyone was beating off to the ex-343 lady being the 60hz savior for Naughty Dog, then a year after the next footage they showed looked choppy asf and then they announced ~30fps and there was a visual step back as well.

TLoU 2 took it's visual lumps at launch since they clearly hid the downgraded aspects up until then.

Either way, I just wanted to point out games that got delays really close to launch, didn't really want to lead the conversation this way.

I agree it's pretty suspect, there are clearly some problems at the studio. They're one of the biggest AAA studios out there outside of the stuff Ubisoft keeps, and they have a ton of help from several studios, so I'm not saying they really deserve a pass on anything, it's really absurd they'd be this far behind. Not to mention they also have a pretty relaxed release schedule compared to other studios.

I can play it in 60fps right now.
We aren't talking FPS anyway and none of them got close to the flack that Infinite is getting.

UC4 is 60fps?

Anyways, yeah I agree on the other point.

343 has a lot to prove, if they can live up to their previous footage from the last two years, I'd be happy.

that right there should tell you something.

If that's what you're talking about, I wouldn't know, never played the MP in an Uncharted game. Hell, I didn't know it and TLoU had MP until I saw people talking about it online, might as well have been invisible on the title screen.

That is sad unless you don't like any MP.

Fkin hell, I imagine heads will roll over at 343. How can you develop a game for that long and not see that it's a trainwreck until 3 months before release... on a new console... as a flagship title. Mind boggling stuff and will heavily effect launch sales.
What a total fvckup

i think two or more of those years was just developing the new engine, from scratch. I’m gonna guess they didn’t plan for social distancing until they had to...I guess you could blame American politics/leadership for that part :p

Your lockdown started in, what, March? That's 5 months... so by that logic they'll release in April 2021? I guess that sounds plausible.
