The worst is Halo 3 ODST.

Halo 5 is better than that one as well as Halo 4 and Halo Reach.

Halo 5's multiplayer wins on several points. Chief (ha) among them that it doesn't have a projectile br with random bullet spread, class based armor abilities, or a mostly useless sandbox.

come @ me

Ouch, ODST was one of the best campaigns in the series.
Ugh. I found it so bad that it’s the only Halo game that I turned off midcampaign and said WTF is this disaster and never turned it back on.

It's better than 5's story at least. While I contend that the levels and gameplay in 5 are better to play in, ODST has many of them beat for best narrative.

Plus that sax tho

Odst, couldn't play it on standard 360 because of the annoying grain filter coupled with semi low res. It cleaned up good enough this gen and honestly, the campaign was great imo. Not what I expect from a halo game, not epic and no chief, but I felt it had a pretty great atmosphere.

Yeah, ODST was pretty bad. Cuuld have been so much better.

with no infinite news might as well dive in

It should never have been released separated from halo 3 really. $60 is hard to justify for a story mode and firefight, quality though they are. It's still a fun playthrough, same as all the other story modes.
I just watched a stream where frank o'connor and some other guy who's name I really should have known played through the old halo 2 E3 demo.

All this has been makin me real nostalgic for another go at 1, 2, and ODST. 5 is too fresh in my mind, and half of 3 and 4's levels are just kinda boring to me nowadays. 4 tops the series for me in narrative, but the levels themselves aren't the best. Great graphics, can't fault it there.

Thank the lord Phil for the MCC. Think I'll make some food and do that right now.

I thought ODST campaign was a lot of fun.
My main issue with ODST was it played too much like the Chief. Of course now you could make it work if you kept it as it was, and keep the Spartans like Halo 5. I always wanted ODST to be more grounded than it was. I'd love to get a Battlefield style ODST game against scary, powerful aliens.

Could we see another teaser at the VGAs?
Story wise, sure, levels better than halo 2 and halo 4 though imo.

Halo 2 and 4 has more memorable moments but 5 felt like you had more choices in most levels, but still kinda narrow/linear. CE/3/4 had best story/cinematics

High charity blows the worst ass. Otherwise halo 2 is fine. Halo 3 has some fantastic ones especially in The Ark and The Covenant, though Cortana is horrible. Halo 4, I can't recall any that were necessarily bad. I enjoyed the whole thing well enough, but none really stand out in either direction.

I disagree a lot on the hate for 5's levels. They definitely felt proper halo, if not in art direction then certainly in open level design and simply being fun to play in. However, the story hangs too long on Meridian and those levels start to grind by the third one there, and the noncombat missions, while interesting with there collectible lore (and Buck interacting with a vending machine), were not a good fit for the rest of the game. Nice enough having some downtime I suppose.

We know nothing about it, but I'm very excited to see what is planned for infinity's story mode. Less eager to see what's up with multiplayer. Not that I think they'll botch it, more that it's such a touchy subject for so many. Whatever comes it's gonna cause some freakout somewhere.

I've not tried multiplayer lately, but I hear the MCC patches and playlist changes have improved it significantly. I think they have it so there's more separate game playlists, instead of lumping them all together. That's so cool to me. "I prefer halo 2 multiplayer" well, now you can play it exclusively. Hope the MCC turns into a constant for the xbox platform. It'd be nice to see it added to in the future with previous releases and perhaps future remakes. Reach most obviously, but I hope for 5 to be added one day, to maybe turn the collection into an ongoing database of Halo. (shooters, at least)

Halo 5 had team Osiris. I hope to see more of them in the future. I loved commanding the teams. The levels were a mixed bag. I really tend to like the outdoor levels instead of those in stations and ships. The traveral in Halo 5 was really good as well. I think they nailed that part.

I don't think we'll be seeing any osiris. With Mike Colter pissing off to do Luke Cage (since cancelled) they didn't even have his voice in the game. I gotta imagine he burned a bridge going with marvel over microsoft while halo 5 was still developing. Buck will have a future somewhere I'm sure, but the others in osiris don't appear to have made a very good impression to justify sticking around in any major roles.

I certainly could be wrong, but I feel the focus is going back on the chief for playable characters. Maybe the blue team spartans as well. But all of that is just what I personally find likely.

It wasn't like he just bailed on them. He got offered Luke Cage and they let him out of his obligations.

I'm sure Locke will be back. The other two there is not much reason to force the issue in terms of bring them back. I honestly don't even remember their names.

Well, Buck has been in two Halo games. And he was the leader in ODST. I think Osiris just needs more screen time.

They are all interesting characters if you've seen / read about them through whatever media. Their story backgrounds are so different from one another. It's quite the contrast with Blue team's members, who've all grown up together doing missions.

Halo 5's campaign was also really short, so that didn't work out in team Osiris favor. But seeing Osiris take out the covenant together as a team was one of the cool factors in the short Halo 5. It was something that I missed in Reach and ODST.

Maybe next time they can make the game's story longer by making us care about the characters.

Splitting the game up between the two different teams didn't help.

I love Buck, and am interested in them fleshing out Locke. I still like him.

Halo Infinite

Thanks for joining me for my first Community Update! I was hoping to get you all something special to celebrate, but all I could find was this never-before-seen piece of concept art from this year's Halo Infinite E3 Announcement Trailer. I hope it will do 🙂

Dynamic 720p and locked 15fps and loot crates on each star,

Yup, I definitely liked team Osiris. Hate that we probably wont be seeing them again. Locke was a beast! He damn near whooped the Chief's ass in H5. Maybe they'll have their own story one day. The Halo universe is vast enough to carry many more stories involving other characters.
