Earlier last week, a brand new type of Halo experience was revealed, dubbed "Halo: Outpost Discovery." Throughout the summer of 2019, 343 Industries is teaming up with Herschend Live and touring the United States, bringing a fully live and immersive, interactive Halo event to five different cities for a limited time. Make sure to check out the above link for more information if you're planning on going — I'll be going to the Chicago event, myself.

However, something particularly interesting about Halo: Outpost Discovery is that there are reasons to believe it is, in some way, related to the next upcoming Halo game, Halo Infinite. Though we know nothing concrete about Halo Infinite's story, we doknow it's likely the game takes place on the Halo ring "Zeta Halo" based on details I and others dissected from Infinite's reveal trailer. Here's why I believe that that Halo: Outpost Discovery will tie back into those details, as well as why one of the new characters it introduces may be very important to the Master Chief himself.

Shortly after the announcement of Halo: Outpost Discovery, Twitter user @TheEld2posted an interesting comparison of both the Halo ring visible at the end of the Halo Infinite trailer and the one shown on promotional material for the upcoming summer events. When examined closely, it becomes clear that they're incredibly similar in many ways.

Possible spoilers in the article, at the link....

Isn’t it technically a next gen engine by default, since it was developed for this/next gen of consoles....not some 16+ , unless it’s an anime engine then it may look young but it’s really some 3000+ years old
They need to cut off support for og xbo/s.
Make the next gen games on X and V.

But instead they make a streaming S...:smash:

343 is making the Slipspace Engine with next gen in mind, and making it much user friendly for their artists/devs. Bonnie did say she’s aware how old the current one was and how difficult it was and that their own devs call her out on it.

Supposedly Infinite is going back to the art style of Bungie's Halo, it will feel out of place compared to Halo 4 and Halo 5.
Ah, I get it know.
Good, I guess... thought they did fine themselves though, but a bit more openness in regards to the environments wouldn't hurt.

The trailer kinda gave that feel with chiefs and soldiers armor. Some are theorizing that the reason behind that is because the created have nerfed all the new tech, with what happened in the ending cinematic before the warped away from Cortana, so they’re forced to use all retired equipment/tech.

I love the Bungie Halo art style. It would look out of place compared to H4/5 though it would fit the narrative of the trilogy, Cortana taking control of the “modern” tech, Humans falling back to older tech to get by.

I doubt this is part of the trilogy. I mean its not even called Halo 6, similar to Reach and ODST.

True, Bonnie or was it Frankie, who once said they wanted to stray from numbering the series. But I’m totally ok if they go back to numbers only to go full final fantasy and each title being its own story/world
