Infinite isn't coming until Fall of 2021 Officially.

Wow long read but good read for sure. Sounds like it will be awesome.

Best scenario for this game. Launch on Halos 20th anniversary

So the game itself was finished when Joseph Staten joined as he played through it twice. That’s an extra 16 months for graphics and gameplay refinement. Not gonna lie, I’m extremely hyped now. Very pleased with the screenshots they’ve released too.

Speaking of improvements on the art/content side, one big outcome from our demo was the emergence of the now world-renowned “Craig.” While we and the internet have come to love dear Craig, we know he wasn’t his “best self” back in July. Can you give us any updates on Craig as he stands today?

NH:
Firstly, I can confirm that the facial animation on NPCs was not fully implemented in that build, which resulted in Craig’s incredibly deadpan/lifeless look. All characters are modelled in a neutral pose, prior to blendshapes & animation being applied. So, poor old Craig was never intended to be seen in that condition which is not something that was evident during the gameplay. It was only later, in the close-up freeze frame of his one bad moment, where it came to light and the legend of Craig was born.

There’s been further work done on the material fidelity and more variety added for Brute faces, we’re also working to add some hairdos and beards which was something we hadn’t gotten to in July. So, whilst we have come to love our dear old Craig, he’s certainly undergoing a significant makeover.

Craig isn’t the only model to see improvements though, there have been significant changes to other characters & 3D models as we continue to evolve and polish our content, some of which can be seen in the Spartan and weapon renders being shared today.

That article kinda makes me think the game was going to need to be delayed even if there had been no backlash over the July demo . Weird that so much stuff was still unfinished / work in progress 4 months before launch.

There were some indirect hints from Phil in interviews when asked if the T-virus was playing a factor in releasing the console....he said no but it has affectEd devs/games

The fact that it is Fall 2021 shows it was nowhere near close to being ready.

Remember too this summer they didn't even have anything to show/tell about multiplayer at all. I'm guessing they had little working on that side.

Someone messed up for sure. A year delay shows that the game was nowhere near close. This isn't like Cyberpunk getting pushed back a month or two.

They clearly should have never even teased it.

I think you're right. Key players "leaving" (lolz) was a good call. Hard to not think there was some poor managment / direction involved.

This also tells me, as it should be, the game will be released in full, not piece meal.
