Halo (A Silver Lining) - Season 2

I don't know much about the series, but I've always said that a Halo movie should be in the style of a Mad Max movie where it focuses constantly moving through the planet.

They’re already tweaking the story...

As usual, some controversy (or more like sorta racist nerd rage) has followed the casting news. Captain Keyes and daughter Miranda Keyes are being played by black actors.

I don't mind the casting on the race subject one bit. But this kind of change does make the story tough to reconcile. By which I mean this is clearly a different take on the character. There's a decent chance I'll even like them better in the roles. But I won't quite be able to see it as "halo," and more as "tv's version of halo."

It's just my own complicated nerd s***. Happens constantly with star wars, between the many books and games that stomped all over each other before the EU reset.

But oh well. Supposing it ends up a good show, I'll get to watching (sometime in the next decade hopefully?) and forget I even thought about this.

We’ve already chiefs face, so that mystery is out the window.

I coulda swore I posted this before...

Speaking on a panel today at Reboot Develop, 343 executive producer Kiki Wolfkill briefly touched on how the company is approaching the adaptation. Respecting canon is one of 343’s priorities, according to Wolfkill, but not at the expense of doing what makes sense.

For example, the Halo games never let us see Master Chief’s face, adding to the character’s mystique (if people called John can have mystique)... “there are some details that we may shift, but we want to respect the fans and what they love about the IP.”

The producer went on to say that 343 understand it will never please everyone. There will always be some people who are upset, but it will do what’s right for the nine episode series. “We may shift dates, locations, or ethnicity of characters,” Wolfkill said.

I've been wondering how they are going to make this not seem like a Mandalorian clone, with the other hero not taking his helmet off, and being a skilled warrior in such a similar vein. I guess this one WON'T have a baby Yoda, so there's that. 😆

I'm well aware of the differences in storyline, I'm just saying when we get to the main character, that's where I can see the comparisons becoming inevitable. At least we know what can be done, in some ways. I also now want every SF show to use technology similar to The Volume, as it's just so groundbreaking, and gives a best-for-the-budget experience.

well if they had released this six years ago when they meant to, people would be comparing this to Mandalorian. But they didn’t so....

Would ya have choreographed fight scenes for the elites? Ya don’t have to answer, just nod ;) :p
Yeah they wanted me to be fight coordinator 😊
would have been cool but like I said, I thought it was too risky because of covid. I start on my new project next week doing some stuff from home then studio 4th jan. We get tested minimum 3 times a week so hopefully be safe.

Never even heard of paramount+
There was a ton of Superbowl commercials, and I still didn't understand. After looking this up yesterday, I now know that this will be the rebranding of CBS All Access on March 4th, which I already subscribe to.
