If they go that route..... they can keep it
Sounds like you want something more in the action/RTS realm. While I enjoy an RTS, at some point, it gets a bit boring for me. It's why I really enjoyed Brutal Legend's action/RTS mechanics. You could interact with all the troops in your army somehow, and even do some cool hacking and slashing or special attacks/buffs/debuffs. In my head, I like to think there could be a "hive mind" control mechanic in a isometric view RTS that allows a bit of twin stick shooter action. You'd be able to control entire units at once, combining their attacks into a big marauding party of death and destruction. The best players would find the right balance of spreading troops around a map, and then controlling certain units at a time when needed. The only way I'll buy this is if you can somehow control the units a bit more. I dislike these RTS style games where you just build stuff & call it in over & over then don't ever get to shoot. It would be cool if you could take control of units like Warthogs & drive them around overhead & shoot with them.
First one was good, but lacked depth. Will be interesting to see what a new dev does with it.
