Has a forum exodus like this ever happened before?

I know people have left forums en masse, but what we're seeing is something different. TXB is still running, and is quite busy - only the users that are left are mostly bots.

It really is like a world where the inhabitants fled, but only because the world was becoming overwhelmed by infection, disease, or aliens. TXB is still thriving, in a sense.

It's the Zombie Apocalypse. This website represents all that is left of the human race.

It's really too bad we couldn't have had this before and kept all the originals together. On the other hand, and no offense to any here that posted at Gamertype, but a lot of the people there were too cliquey in my opinion. If WCG and Union were to combine then it would be pretty damn close to the original TXB in both OTL and gaming.

I've been on quite a few forums in my day but as of yet have never witnessed or participated in such a mass jump to a new forum, although I have seen a few die

I've never seen anything like it either. The forums I've seen die have just gradually dribbled out like an old man's penis.

We went out with a bang, not a whimper. Good exit.

I don't really understand the stragglers. They think they can have reasonable discussions with all those bots? Denial is the first stage of grief, I guess.

Puppet is probably in his glory, no Xbox users to bring down his delusions lol

I remember Plainview saying that, at this time, the forums here can only be viewed by registered members. Perhaps one reason that some people are still straggling is simply because they can't see for themselves how well this place - and the transition - has turned out, and they're too stubborn to just sign-up blindly...

It will be interesting to see if there are enough bots to sustain revenue after all the people leave.

Reminds me of "The Langoliers". The bots just eating up used up time and history.

We Crave Games

1,400+ members
Your point being? Looking at the member list only about 400 of those users have more than 100 posts. Kind of pathetic for 3 years old. There's already that many members here in only a couple days.

That's something I've yet to see...

So grumpy.

Ace wasn't talking about the numbers. 400 people isn't a big deal in itself, obviously. The unusual parts here are 1) we got almost everybody to follow us immediately, and 2) the forum collapsed and was overrun with bots within 24 hours of our departure.

I just accidentally clicked on TXB out of habit and was sad to see basically a ghost town with only a few actual users online. Well I'm just glad I saw the notice when I did because if I had not gone on for a couple of days and went there today I'd be wondering what the hell happened! LOL!

It wasn't 1,400 members the first sixty seconds after it was created, but that's not the point.

That is the point, you are trying to say that WCG was a mass exodus on a similar scale as this is, it wasn't..400 members didn't jump from TXB to join WCG in a couple of days did they?

I have no idea boo boo. All I know is that it's dumb to have two separate communities of old school TXBers when we should all be on one site. Riotous used to be a dick to me too, but now he's a sweetheart.

Judging by join date at WCG it's pretty similar. Maybe I overreacted a bit. I just saw your other thread questioning why people didn't go to WCG as well. I hope you can forgive me.
