Headsets for Xbox

Not long ago I purchased the Turtle Beach Stealth Gen 2 headset for Xbox. But from early on I've had this issue with static and disconnects. Last night while doing some shopping at Target I noticed a large pile of the official Xbox Wireless headsets on display so I snagged one. I haven't used them in game yet but I hope the sound is as good as the Turtle Beach headphones I'm replacing, minus the static.

So, what is the verdict?

Same for all you with the official Xbox headset, how is it now some of you have had it for a while?

How would you compare it to other headsets you’ve owned?
When you look at it as a whole, this is super good for the price. It is made with Xbox in mind, it can do a lot of things that fall seamlessly and it also works great with windows. I had a few wireless headsets but they feel cheap and the part I have is to use a dongle to take up a USB on my console.

This is by far the best headset I ever used.
It is very simple.

What's the audio like? That is all that real matters for me.

Have you used it with your pc? It’s strictly wireless right?

Very comfortable and audio is very good. I've had no connectivity issues or static unlike the Turtle Beach headphones which are $50 more. You really can't go wrong for the price. You get a few months trial with Dolby Atmos which offers more EQ options and if you want to purchase the app its only something like $15.

I alreaady have Atmos.

How is the audio compared to the TB headset?

Audio is better than the Turtle Beach headphones for the simple fact that I don't get any static with the Xbox headphones. Also, this may seem like a small thing but the design, specifically using the earcups as dials for game/chat audio is a great thing. It makes volume adjustment so much easier than trying to find a dial/button.

Seems biased. The Xbox headset and the Kaira both have heavy base out the box, but not a problem for one but is for the other. It mentions the EQ app for the xbox headset while ignoring that the Rzr app has EQ setttings for the Kaira.

Major random messed up sounds no matter what wireless headset I use.

Sometimes the controller gets disconnected when it happens.

Had this issue since Xbox One X.

Googling shows no fix????

I plug into the controller and it resolves it but I can't adjust the volume.

Might have to get rid of the wireless headsets and find a nice wired one.

Sounds like you might have some kind of wireless interference in your environment

I will keep my Wireless for now,it works great with my phone and the Xbox...I had such a hard time getting one when it came out and this will probably be the same online hassle lol.

My only pet peeve is when I just want to use them with my phone,it starts my XSX as well ;)

So I just ordered the Xbox wireless headset. Is Atmos only for movies, or also games? Do you have to buy a license? How does that work?

Atmos for games too, I can’t recall if it comes with a license, but when you do get it’ll it’ll have you download the app and it’ll just work, and you’ll have the option to switch back freely to MS Sonic

Did you ever identify a solution?

My official wireless headset will make distored sounds when the controller is left idle for about 10 seconds on some games (experiencing it a lot on Alan Wake Remastered at the moment). Some games never do this. No clue what's going on.

Xbox is the culprit.
