You like Norse mythology... have you played God of War 4? Totally worth it... you'll get all the 'Heims you can handle!!!

Haven't played any of them. If I become fabulously wealthy and have the time to justify having every console, I'll get around to it.

I started this last week and got the part where you have the two doors to choose from, so very close to the start I guess. I didnt enjoy it at all. It’s too serious for me. I find it a little uncomfortable to play. I probably won’t go back to it.
I'm with you atm. I've been through one of the doors and went through some fire puzzles and a boss.
I don't find it uncomfortable, but nothing really hooks me. Graphically it looks great (except that the textures looks... low res andmushy? at close range even on One X), sound is fantastic with headphones and the norse theme is okay (seen it done better but the semi celtic vibe of senua give it a bit more identity) but.... combat is not great and doesn't seem to evolve more than giving you more enemies to deal with at the same time, it's tank-like controls feel... clunky, and not okay clunky as rdr2 but just clunky. The story hasn't really grabbed me yet either, maybe it's because it's just a huge question mark atm, but other games have used this to pull you in, this haven't this far at least.
I'm going to play through the second door and if I feel the same after that, I'll uninstall it.

Yeah, the game is more "experience" than game, imo. The story does get better, and the game shines when you stop expecting it to have much depth in mechanics and just soak in the... performances, I guess?

I was pretty luke warm to it (not being as impressed with the graphics as some others), but it does get pretty interesting. The aural experience alone makes it worth it, imo.

Started this game today. Already killed the first boss.

Combat system is simple but satisfying. I like how they are trying to tell Senua's story. Would be nice if the locked doors had more variation, already growing tired of the glyph matchmaking.

Seems like it will be a short game. Anybody have an estimate on game length?

Just beat Valveren(?), cool boss with nice moves. Like it.

That isn't too bad. A bit longer than i was expecting.
I think I have all but one achievement. They are handed out like candy. Though I didn't get every hidden item. Not sure what they are called. I looked up, and speed runs are about 6 hours.

You mean those stone things that tell you norse mythology. Yeah with the way some of the gameplay mechanics work I imagine it would be easy to miss 1 or 2 of those.

Typical. Go though hours and hours of the game withought dying and have now died like 3 times in 20 minutes. Love it.

If the black stuff reaches the brain do you start right at the start of the game?

Yes. You have to start the game over from the beginning.

Nope, there is no permadeath.

Completed.

Great voice work.
Great audio.
Great atmosphere.
Really nice combat system that is satisying, it seems simple but has more depth than you think.
Story was solid.
Visuals are real nice for the most part.
Some cool gameplauy mechanics.

Overall I really enjoyed it and woul give it an 8.5/10.

I was gonna bump this thread yesterday expressing my hatred for this "game" but I didn't. I bought this back in December when they released it on disk and was really looking forward to it. I finally got around to starting it on Monday....ugh. I'm not sure how the story ends because I was so infuriated walking around aimlessly trying to figure out why scenery turns invisible or trying to figure out how to line those sign things up. Just awful. I had the game packaged and ready to ship before it even sold on eBay.

Was playing this last night. Got to that bulls*** part where the fire thing is chasing you through the maze while looking for Runes :( soo many cheap deaths...
