I trust the Chinese brands over the Korean brands.

Nothing but problems with Samsung and LG for me.
Samsung has some nice stuff in their newer sets (last 2 years) but they fell hard from where they used to be when CRT's were a standard. Funny thing is my Mom has stuck with Samsung since the CRT days and every TV she's purchased since then has had the same problem, at some point a component inside breaks and the tv starts turning itself off and on over and over until it's unplugged, that's happened to like three different tv sets and I hear that's a common problem with the brand. That being said the QLED sets from the last two years look nice and that one connect box thing they use should be a standard option on every tv now a days IMO.

It's funny all of these people are reporting what was on the show floor but I haven't seen many actual impressions of what was on display.

I've been looking into that one too, it's not confirmed to have HDMI 2.1 though and some people are complaining that it has that wide angle feature, they say it hurts the picture quality,, the 900H (model below it) is confirmed to get an update for HDMI 2.1 features so I guess that one has it but the software won't be ready in time for launch? On another note it doesn't seem like Samsung has made any progress with their quantum dot OLED.

LG OLED with another best TV at CES award. Not surprising.
still more than happy with my C8, will be another year or 2 before upgrading to another OLED.

Other tech is out/coming like mini LED,Dual LCD and more FALD's.
This year expect HDMI 2.1 added.

I'm not waiting but if something happens to my 75Z9D in the living room I'll probably go micro-led.

What’s the benefit? How does it compare to what’s out there now?

I know I can look this stuff up, but it seems like all the videos are long and go waayyy deeper than I can possibly get into.

Think of a much brighter OLED without the burn in and much more expensive.

I was going to poste this too, I'm tempted to wait until next year really. Out of the new stuff what caught your eye from CES? that hisense dual cell sounds promising but I haven't heard many impressions on it or what the size range is, mini LED sounds pretty good too as long as it's improved over the one that came out this year.

I still can't believe that Sony isn't putting HDMI 2.1 in all of their television sets they have a new gaming console coming out that supports those features.

He doesn't mention Hisense and I think they are worth mentioning.
I really want to hear some impressions about their dual cell tv's but so far nobody has said much other than a description of what goes into making them.
