I am thinking of buying a new bigger TV., I am still using 10 years old 1080 TV. TV just won't break or show any sign of aging.

Probably going 65-70" ich. Heard OLED is the new thing. Was it LED or something earlier?

Now I just need some naughty kids to break my TV so I have excuse to get a new TV.

The Chinese domination continue with TV. I was looking at Amazon and some other online stores and the most rated and highest rate with best price for the spec are Hisense. Supposely already number 1 in China, and 2nd in the world ( pobably due to being top in Chinese market).

the 65” Qled model out price and out spec brands like Sony samsung even when the latter have discount.

Also it has 4.5 star rating from over 10k reviews

i almost pull the trigger but resist until I really need an upgrade. I still use a 40” HD TV bought over 10 years ago.

When I eventually buy a next gen console, maybe I will get a 4K bigger TV. I am a stringy bastard.

i have a simple rule, do’t buy something new until the old one broke.

Have one in another to that’s going on 10 years. 🤷‍♂️

Meanwhile I’ve gone through a Samsung washer and tv in three years, exactly. Got TV and washer the same year. Both crapped out this year. The washer a month ago.
Korean made....

Did you get hdmi 2.1 with the TCL?

My Mom and Step Dad always bought Samsung tv's because back in the CRT days they were the best but every flat panel they had ended up going out on them within 3 years and needing to be repaired or replaced. I've been good with Sony and LG flat panels over the years. LG LED's seem to have gone down in quality a lot since they focused on oled though

Yeah LGs LEDs aren’t much better than Vizios . Their OLEDS though are some of the best sets you can buy, bought a 77” G2 a few months ago, the picture is amazing.

Can’t wait. Is there a list anywhere? Will get a 55” for bedroom when that TV conks out.
Oh you will see it listed with the titles.
Most NF made movies and series are in DV.
Some have Atmos as well.
Pretty big library of DV on NF.
IF you are paying for that plan.

Also... HBO Max,Paramount + and Disney + have Dolby Vision content.

You might need to enable the HDMI 2.1 ports for gaming btw.

Xbox auto enabled, but had to switch it to 120fps as it defaulted to 60fps.

Many tv's have you enable the HDMI 2.1 in the tv settings.

Btw it's HDMI 1 and 2.

Does the Xbox say it supports 4K@120Hz when you look at the Xbox settings?
(ie green checks next to the supported features)

If it works without enabling it in the tv settings like past tv's that's great.

Yep. Only issue is HDMI out from TV to receiver. Doesn’t work. I can control the receiver, but no audio. So, just went with optical. I only have left right and center. I game with a headset.

Do you have a HDMI 2.1 AVR?

Netflix and Disney seem to be most consistent with dolby vision content.

What would be the main advantages of a 2.1 receiver? I got my consoles plugged into 2.1 inputs on my TV then HDMI ARC from TV to receiver, it's tempting to upgrade for a 2.1 eARC setup but everything's sounding and working a treat.

More HDMI 2.1 ports(if you needed them)

Do you use the AVR when gaming? If not no need if you have a solid one.

Yep all my sound from the TV goes through my receiver. I pretty much got my receiver just before 2.1 came out or while it was still on high end devices, guess that's the thing with tech there's always something better on the way.
