Help Picking a New TV

Yes the Z9G looks great! Uses the Back Light Master Drive(Like the Z9D..unlike the Z9F) and is 8K.
Its the real follow up to the Z9D but will cost a arm and leg.

Wish I could see them in person! But damn they are effing huge! I was hoping to see those changes (minus the 8k) in a 65-75” set.

Does it compromise picture quality at all?

Game mode always compromises picture quality regardless of the set otherwise there would be no need for it. Some will say it doesn't but they may just like the look better personally but a lot of the processing that the TV does is turned off to enable that faster response time. My set cuts the response time from 88ms outside of game mode to 28ms in game mode but to me the visual trade off isn't worth it, it' doesn't look bad in game mode but I really don't notice the extra "lag" so I just keep the standard settings on.

They should have smaller models.

Too many of these companies are only making their high end sets 65 and above, it'd be nice if they'd go down to 55 inch. They just keep wanting to go bigger and bigger for some reason, the average home isn't big enough for a 100 plus inch tv to look right in it IMO.

It doesn't with the Z9D.
It turns off added processing but the image isn't hurt in the process.

I just bought a Vizio P-Series 55”. It has Dolby Vision which is guess is borked on Xbox One X. But even HDR10 looks weird on it. It looks way over sharpened to the point of foliage in the background looking like it has a screen door effect. The colors are great and the image is sharp as hell. But in motion, idk.

Anyone have experience with this series?

You all are scaring me.
I hope it works out for you but I got stung with a 1 year old $2000 TV and Visio would do nothing. I will never buy them again. That said I had 2 before it and those didn’t have issues.

It's a decent set has full array local dimming and a 1080p/120hz game mode if you hook it to the PC.
My only nit pick would be its peak brightness is kinda low but should be good still if you aren't used to HDR and brighter than any non HDR tv.

Old video that talks about it.

Lol. I actually have that one (65") in the living room. So I'm good.

I think I actually may prefer it to the Viziio.
I don't want you to think I was discounting your purchase. I was just saying I had a bad experience with my latest purchase and Vizio's support to help replace it, even though it was out of warranty. My other Vizios I had were rock solid. Only dumped them for bigger and better TVs and the move to 4K.

Oh no, not at all. I was just being cheeky since I literally got my Vizio that same day.

Thoughts on LG-9 series NanoCell? I know all of the downsides: IPS panel and doesn’t get the brightest but it checks a ton of boxes for current and future compatibility with hdmi 2.1 and the price seems about right (1,000).

I’m tempted by the Vizio Quantum as that is a few hundred more (and looks awesome) but my last TV is a Vizio and I thought it died early. I don’t have confidence in them as a result particularly as they branch into high end TVs.
