Help Picking a New TV

That's fine, I suspected it wouldn't support everything, but it would pass 4k at the least though?

I know I'll need a new one, but probably best to wait for next years models so hoping I could get by with it until 2021 models come out with (you'd think) all the latest specs and HDMI 2.1

Thanks again for the heads up.
Might support 4K/30

Your welcome

So the X900H is available in Canada with bigger sizes coming around April 22-24th.
Trying to reach out to the vendors in the states to see if we are getting ours soon.

What made you choose this set over everything else out there? I’m still considering a new one but I can be patient.

Sony and Panasonic have the best picture processing around.
Full featured HDMI 2.1 in at least 2 of the 4 ports.
Bell and whistle wise I like the acoustic from the screen audio and the ATSC 3.0 tuner for that free 4K/HDR over the air.

seems the X900H is available here but for more...

i was expecting more for the 65” will wait and see though

Got it for less plus no tax....

I love my Sony TV it's amazing quality (x9000s or something). I'm gonna have to upgrade this year for next gen, don't have HDMI 2.1, 120HZ and Dolby vision will be nice too.

Would you not recommend OLED Val? My dad got one and the picture is pretty impressive.

I had slight issues with picture quality difference with Samsung and LG LED in the past and TCL now.
No difference in the Sony sets I tried.

So I was dead set on this new Sony H900X (or whatever it's called)

But realizing I need a new AVR to go along with it, and the next Xbox, and relying on firmware updates for the TV to support those things (and the AVR's don't yet natively support these new things either)

I think I'll wait for the 2021 models. And if the H900X for example turns out to be great, I'll nab one at a discount when new models come out, and be aware of it's capabilities.

Better to wait for all the tech in all the hardware to catch up than play the guinea pig.

Spent my money elsewhere (new golf clubs....lol) But this time next year I'm in 4K, 120fps heaven I'm hoping?

Is yours coming from out of state? There was one a time when here in Cali if something shipped from out of state you weren’t taxed. Your only not taxed if it’s straight from the source or out of the country :/
