I will say this much, giving politics it's own section is a good idea in my opinion. Always felt like it worked for TXB. Stuff felt like it got out of hand when politics was merged with the regular OTL.

Welcome Fish food , been a while. I'm one of the multi-forum poster guys now, here and WCG. It sucks, but both forums have people I enjoy talking to. I only found out about Plainviews forum a few weeks ago myself, but like you I signed up instantly. Glad to see all is well, good times ahead with this community for sure.
That thread way back in 2006 (I think 2006) where Fish Food was complaining about severe stomach pain, and then the thread where people were afraid he died a few days later is still my most remembered thread in all of TXB. I think it's because it was one of the first threads I saw in the OTL.
Not everyone migrated to WCG, so TXB kept running. TXB may still be running, but bots are the bosses. So, since it was virtually impossible to mod the place, Plainview started this place up so the remaining TXB members had a place to go.
