I keep seeing Kotaku reference the source material and the game as “controversial.” Pretty sure they mean the creator of the source material herself, is what is controversial?

Not a fan of Kotaku and while some of those quotes don’t sound good in a vacuum (GamerGate was a good thing? What?) I’d want to dive into the guy’s history myself and draw my own conclusions rather than just suck down whatever milkshake Kotaku is peddling.

edit: Quick glance at his Tweets and he certainly sounds like, as an old friend used to say, a dofus.

There are plenty of smooth-brains who think R.K. Rowling herself is "controversial". If you don't suckle at the teat and parrot every line of thought by these Trans groups they say you are "controversial". Thankfully Rowling is too big a cash cow for them to harass her out of a job.

With any luck, it will feel like playing as a mage in Elden Ring but Hogwarts style 👌
 
My expectations are low as the developers have only really done Disney tie in games but looks like they have a chance to do something great, we'll see soon.
 
I liked what I saw in the state of play, I've never seen the movies but I think it looks like an interesting world they've made here. It's not the best looking game ever but it still looks pretty nice and has some good spell effects.

As someone who never read any of the books, didn't care about the movies, this game also does absolutely nothing for me, but those who're interested seem to think it looks good, so I hope they enjoy it I guess.
 
Looks interesting. Will see how reviews pan out. I'm just wondering if there is an actual story here in SP or is just like open world and you go do things you want.

A lot of the world makes me think of what the next fable may look like, not he character models but the environments and architecture. I'm a sucker for a good fantasy action RPG, hopefully the 8 or so months they have left will be spent mostly on polishing what's there.
 
Never really been into Potter but that game looks good.

Yea there is a story they talk about it, not sure how it'll tie in with doing classes and other stuff.

I liked what I saw, better then I thought, agree the animations and combat looks a little clunky and bothersome with enemies standing there, but as a fan I'll be pretty happy just to be able to wander around Hogwarts discovering stuff and taking classes too, my partner is pretty hyped she's a big fan.

They are looking to do more polish to the game it says.
 
My wife is hyped for this game she was bummed it got delayed. She wants to get it on the Switch but I’d rather us get it on Series X. I’ve also only seen the first film I need to watch the rest.
