Home theater setup help

Hey guys, i'm honestly at a loss here, i want to set my home theater up to my xbox but pretty much everything i've tried hasn't worked, i heard it was easiest to plug the xbox into the receiver then from the hdmi out to an input on your TV.

Does anyone here have any knowledge on the matter or point me in the right direction, getting very fustrated!!

Yes from the Xbox to the AVR then to the TV.... You might have to manually set the HDMI you are plugging in on the AVR.
What brand/model AVR/TV?

My hook up is as follows and it works fine.

Equipment: Panasonic TV, Panasonic BR home theatre system, X1, cable box. I even have a 360 hooked up. My home theatre system has two HDMI In and one HDMI Out

Hookup as follows:

- Connect TV's HDMI In (ARC) to home theatre system's HDMI Out
- Connect home theatre system's HDMI In 1 to X1's HDMI Out
- Optional.... connect home theatre system's HDMI In 2 to 360's HDMI Out
- Optional.... connect cable box to X1's HDMI In

So for gaming, X1 uses my home theatre system's HDMI 1, but if I want to play 360 I set it to HDMI 2. If I want to watch TV, I have to turn on X1 and snap to TV mode.

Thanks for the info intelli, i sorted it in the end, but i had to take my HDMI out of the ARC input on my TV and put it in another and then it worked fine, not sure what happened there but happy it's working fine and shaking the room!
