Guerilla proved their talent with the first and I am expecting this one to be incredible. I also expect them to release it next year as they have been staffing up and are a very efficient studio.

I have to wonder if I struggled with the first one out of boredom or difficulty. I can't recall anymore, I barely remember playing it now.

I feel like that only makes sense of covid is causing legit problems which is believable. Otherwise I don't get why it would take them 5 years when they did the first in much less while building a new engine too.

The only thing I wonder about is outsourcing to China for some of the art, they did a good deal of that with the last game if I'm not mistaken. Of course they've grown considerably since that game released too and the main reason for that growth was to speed up game development. China is starting to see more covid cases again, it sounds like Beijing is on lockdown because they saw a few spots flaring up so hopefully that stays where it's at.

The new studio in Malaysia will pick up that slack.

in-engine is a purposefully misleading word to make people think realtime in-game.

In engine just means it ran in a game engine, actually FPS can be 5. Or it can run on super supped-up PC that can power a small town.

Best is take anything you see with a bit of skepticism & have realistic expectations.

Oh yeah, consider my skepticism fully engaged. Suppose I should have added 'real-time' to that initial post. If the game looks anywhere near that good running in real time, I'm very impressed, and I'm not really much of a graphics guy.

I'd be shocked if it didn't ship in 2022. I never expected it this year.
That is why I said nobody will be shocked and we really have no idea what kind of impact covid has on the development. Plus Sony delays everything.

But the game should be pretty far along. Its been 4 years.

Not sure if these are new or not, but these are on the Playstation website for Horizon FW. Hope we get this type of quality in-game when it launches.
