I guess it depends on how much you want it to grow -- I was thinking that earlier too... not necessarily a kickstarter but just the idea that we no longer have that accidental exposure (people thinking TXB was actually affiliated with Microsoft). TXB in it's hayday also had reviews and other things that grabbed passerbys and got them to register, etc.

Before someone sabotaged it, WCG was generating $200 / month in ad revenue. (which was all taken from me, and Google never rescinded their tax forms they'd already sent to the IRS, so I ended up paying taxes on income I never received)

And that forum had WAY less "on topic" ad-worthy posts.. actually having tons of gaming discussions means the ads will be for games and game related things, which should generated a fair bit of coin.

That idea makes me uneasy...the last time I was a member of a place like this, the owner got a little greedy, completely shifted the focus of the site and alienated everyone.
