How Infamous: SS used the PS4's 4.5GB RAM, CPU, GPU to make our jaws drop

Yea I love open world games but this game just doesn't do it for me at all. I like the visuals, but I'm far from blown away like i was when seeing some of the first year ps3/360 games, I actually near blown away then.

I was pretty blown away visually. This is the best looking game this gen so far and the fact it's open world and can maintain 1080p and mostly 30-40fps is even more impressive.

Good looking game but not much else to do in an open world game. Maybe would have been better if it was a tight linear experience.

Its good to know the developers didn't have to use all of that tiny little pool of RAM to get it done though. Looking forward I wish they would have went with a true 8gb of GDDR5 instead. Even then thats not much at all considering what these next gen games will be needing, and sadly thats the only technical strength of the console, and it was cut basically in half :(

You really don't know what your talking about.

pretty self explanatory. the ps4's real advantage is its ram, and its cut in half. Damn sure isn't that cpu, or even gpu, both are old technically.
The advantage is from the rams bandwidth not the amount. 4.5 is plenty right now, and if in the future it is not, Sony will free up more of the reserve.

so 512mb of RAM would be fine long as its GDDR5?

Good thing developers asked for double the ram. Can you imagine if Sony would have shipped with 4 GB like they originally planned?

That would have probably put the systems a little closer in terms of performance. Probably what Microsoft was counting on.

If the OS uses 3 GB like it does now, does that mean the ps4 only has 1 gb available for games? lol.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the decision to up the ram was an easy one to make.

So you think you got the wizard jizz Naughty Dog? Let's see you work your magic with one gigabyte. Lol
I mean come on. That's twice as much as what you had last time. :D
