I don't remember much about it so I probably did it wrong whichever way. I just remember the whole feeling of feeling compelled to keep trying until I finally got through the whole thing. The original Zelda (which I also played that summer) was the same way.

Turned 32 last month. Been gaming since i was 5, first console was the NES that my parents owned when i was sucking on bottles, or nipples. I don't really remember. Got the SNES when i was probably 7, and fell in love with gaming like every other kid. Got the N64 when i was 11 around my Birthday, greatest time of my life. Got the PS1 shortly after and it immediately sent me into puberty at 12-13 years old. So if you think i have a hard on for Sony at times, that's probably why. Owned every other console from the NES on except for the Sega Saturn, just never got one for whatever reason.

So i like to say i was born a Nintendo fan, grew up a PlayStation fan, and evolved into an Xbox fan. But yeah, i prefer Nintendo and Sony for obvious reasons. I was a real life fanboy when i was a kid and never let it go i guess. Plus i'm just crazy, as you already know. Dreamcast and Xbox turned me into more of a multiplayer gamer over the years though. Something about beating people online gives me great satisfaction. I was never the most athletic or outgoing person so taking my skills online always did it for me. Although, i did play baseball for a couple years in high school. Couldn't hit the ball, but i could steal a base.

Since some people are sharing life details i might as well. No shame for TD, i'm just a guy from Massachusetts. As you've probably guessed, i have no life outside of gaming and these forums. I live with my dad and brother. Dropped out of high school my senior year. Have had 2 girlfriends my whole life and one girl broke my heart. Still haven't recovered from that. Have had 2 jobs, worked at a grocery store and more recently a factory as a machine operator for 7 years. On the job hunt at the moment, but not really. I don't like working anyway, i'd rather sleep and game. I only leave the house when i run out of food, or when the few friends i have want to hang out and have a beer. Speaking of beer, not sure when this turned into a This Is My Life or an AA meeting but i'm done anyway. That about covers it.

But that is the part of getting old we can look forward to! I tell my wife all the time I can't wait to turn into a grumpy old man that poops his pants and doesn't give a s*** about it, lol.

I've got an Oculus Rift. My wife has walked in on me crouching, jogging in place, and doing what must look like spastic yoga with a wired black ski mask strapped to my face at least a dozen times.

Btw... the poll shows our median age is 41 to 45, which is probably not accurate. I think we've got a lot of younger guys in their 20s who just visit the Xbox forum and that's it, and they aren't aware of the poll. So this is just a select sub-sample ... of elite, highly seasoned members.

If I'm the youngest forum poster here, I feel I should really start posting some questionable, offensive and sexist things.

Being the youngest, I really shouldn't be the moral foundation of the forums that I am... it makes the rest of you look bad.

Now hand me my anal beads, please. You can pull on them like a rip-cord when sky diving.

Also, I'd be totally be willing to have Frozpot to take me under his wing/leg.

TXB's heyday was about as raunchy and sexually "adventurous" as any video game forum I've seen. In fact I recall being obsessed with bull semen for a reason I've probably mentally blocked. So us old sacks have seen a thing or two in our day.

Yep, it was. The games were always crap, like space invader clones, or frogger clones, but it was a thing. It's how I got into coding.

I doubt that. Neither of those two products were things back in the early 80s, in the UK or Ireland anyway.
