How relevant is Insomniac?

For the time, the Spyro ps1 and ratchet ps2 games were quit good. I do feel that the ratchat games kind of strayed away from the bit of platforming the original had, and sort of lost a bit of it's appeal. Still overall good games.

Then, we have Resistance, which I still consider one of the best fps of last gen with it's level design favoring more Half Life than most other titles from last gen. The second games was pretty horrid and is a reason I have yet to try R3 yet, have heard good things from R3 so ready to give that a try.

I have yet to play all the Ratchet's for ps3, but Frontal Assault didn't seem to fit my taste for the series.

Fuse didn't really do much for me either and I'm very skeptical about their future.

I'm sure they don't only have Sunset Overdrive in development, so do you think they have a PS4 Ratchet game in the works?

I need demo's and lots of media that proves a lot to me, I don't really have faith in them anymore.

Not very relevant at the moment. We shall see if SO will change that or not. Game is looking potentially really good, but we really haven't seen much of anything from it yet.

They're an above average studio, although not AAA yet. I like their games.

Not that relevant right now. Ratchet and Clank never interested me though.

I did really enjoy Resistance and Resistance 3, so it gives me some confidence that they will deliver with Sunset Overdrive.

Haven't played any of their games (outside of a Resistance demo which was lol) since Spyro 2, maybe Year of the Dragon. So for me not relevant at all.

To other people they may be relevant, but to me they're not. I don't think I've ever played one of their games. I don't play games because of who made it though.

I think Insomniac is underrated. You're not going to get a lot of positive feedback on them from Xbox fans because they've been exclusive to Sony's consoles for so many years.

they took a big hit last gen. RFOM was good but sequel was focus tested to hell. the ratchet series is great but loss some of its audience. hopefully sunset does well as they are a good studio ran by a great boss.

The ratchet & Crank Games are good. I used to play them on PS2.

Going by their recent batch of games, they are trending down with the recent R&C games and Fuse being meh.

Hopefully, Insomniac gets their act together. On the plus side, their quirky Sunset game is not destined to be a bad rated game due to going against the military shooter grain. Plants vs Zombies Warfare is arguably the most weird looking offshoot shooter yet it got pretty good scores.

So no excuses.

I've never played a game made by them and have no interest in any of their games.

Resistance is good, not sure what viktor is talking, he needs to play the full game as it is actually pretty good.

I'm going to get to R3 eventually, I think it is going to be worth a play through... people just don't get it because it lacks a slight visual punch. Resistance 1 really is a solid title though.

R3 was amazing.
I'll take your word for it and try it soon, from what I saw it had a nice bit of progression that looked really fun and intriguing..

That's why I find it strange so many people can play all these fairly bad games but never try solid games just because they lack in hype I guess..

They're relevant to me in that I can usually count on them to release a solid game. IMO the only release they have that didn't qualify for that was R2. Fuse gets a ton of crap on the internet, but it was a solid game if only cursed by a publisher that pushed then to make it a bit generic. The rest of their games are good releases but clearly the past publishers have been pushing for sequels and considering that they have usually delivered still.

Sunset Overdrive looks refreshing and I'm excited to see what they can pull off without publishers pushing them to fill "genre A"-game. I could be wrong but it looks like they have a unique game on their hands.

I'd say it's hard to say anything about SO, we haven't seen gameplay at all? As far as I know. I will remain skeptical on that title until it comes out. I don't understand the hype from some of the xbox bros on that one so far. It's hard for me to be hyped for Uncharted 4, or Halo 5 as well. Especially after Halo 4.

Seems to me they just get hyped over nothing though, half of them didn't even play their past games and they are hyping a pixar video basically.

Loved them for Resistance, and I would say they are very relevant. Rachet is extremely popular as well. With Sunset Overdrive as a highly anticipated AAA title, I think they are doing well for themselves.

R3 was ripped off of CoD, R2 was awful, R1 was great.
