Looks interesting, I'm going to keep an eye out for this one.

This looks sick! Definitely a game my wife and I would play together!

EDIT: Where is the website for this game?
 
This is released today. Anyone planning on getting it? So far, there's one two reviews posted on metacritic from Gaming Nexus. Anyone know this publication at all? They scored it 90%

Edit: Looks like "God is a geek" gave it a 6/10 - check it out.

Looks like it has full controller support for the PC release. Hrm, which version to get?

This right here from the "God is a geek" review basically points out a pretty big no buy for me:
The biggest issue with How to Survive is that there isn’t much variety. The four islands all appear to be fairly identical, and the missions are almost all fetch quests of some kind or another. Enemy types range from standard zombies to huge Tank-like brutes and explosive “fatties” or “Bombers”. Some have helmets on or body armour, and the undead animals (dear and boar, predominantly) are tough as nails, but your tactics will rarely differ unless you’ve just unlocked a new weapon or skill.

I played about an hour of the trial last night and personally I don't like it. The levels seem very linear and the combat feels stiff and cumbersome. Others might like it but it's not my thing. Very happy that MS has trials for all their XBLA games, saved me $15.
 
This is free on Xbox now with all the DLC plus online co op for the story mode and other modes. Played it last night for an hour and it's just excellent. Very hard and quite a challenge to stay alive. It also has an Iron Man mode now where you have to beat the whole game in one life.

I'm really liking it but for one issue- water is overly scarce.

I don't see why the Wells dry up, or even don't refill periodically.

I'm completely stuck because I can't find enough friggin water. Even the exotic fruit don't respawn enough to keep me alive.

Oh s*** really? I used up three wells already thinking it would heal me. That's good to know.

Yeah, I don't know if it's a bug or on purpose. Still, the fact remains that my character dies from thirst and I can't do anything about it that I know of. I can handle having to travel to wells or sleep zones, but when there is not even respawning water... It sure as hell respawns zombies quick...

Yeah. It's full on. I haven't even gotten to the part where I have to worry about food or water yet either. I might go back and. Kill that deer on the first island if I can. And if I can't I might restart just to get those wells back.

Yeah, they don't even teach you about it for a while. I really like Kovac, though, lol.
 
I'm dying way too damn much. I don't understand why I cant quick swap melee and ranged weapons without going into inventory.

Right bumper. Y switches different weapons of the selected type.

Don't forget to combine feathers you get from the birds with your arrows. They do more damage and it's a silent weapon. if you time it right, whole groups of Zombles will fall before you! You can retrieve arrows as well.
