I lost interest in Nintendo way back during the N64 days, & was never really impressed with their games since... However, Nintendo once again is proving to the World they have what it takes in making some the BEST GAMES EVER MADE during the first year the Switch is out! Crazy!!

If Nintendo continues to push out the best software each year for another two years, they will have a mega hit on their hands like they saw with the Wii... Only this time there is no waning gimmick bloating it's sales, the Switch is legit!

Nintendo once again shows that the most powerful hardware doesn't matter near as much as unique quality software. It's exclusive software that pushes their hardware sales, and now even I want one. :surprise:

It's pretty nice Mike. I'm finding myself wanting every new games announcement to come to Switch. Like, for example, Ori 2 would be amazing on the Switch. Lol

I do, too. First Zelda, now Mario. #1 and #2 GOTY, in the same year. Wow.

They're big on SP gaming, which is all I'm interested in.

I also like that Nintendo is unique. They don't do the "me too" stuff that other consoles do.

And their games have a simple, fun quality, unlike so much of the gritty "mature" games we see.

I guess I'm still concerned that once I'm done with Zelda and Mario, there won't be anything else. And I'm also a little hesitant because I've always only needed one console to satisfy my gaming needs. Whenever I've bought a second, I've always regretted it and eventually sold it back.

So as usual, I'm still waffling.

I bought one earlier this month. I've been a PC only gamer for years. The Switch is awesome. Currently playing BOTW and soon some Mario. I play it almost exclusively in portable mode. It just works. Love the console.

Nail on head for me as well... I also worry that once Nintendo has these two great games out, that they'll just ride on their success for years to come without bringing more amazing games to the table.

I'm all too familiar with Nintendo's dry spells, so this is another reason why I haven't been much of a Nintendo fan the past 18 or so years

I think I've recommended a Switch to you as a secondary console once before already. I'm still suggesting that it might fit you Iike a glove.

Nintendo seems to be getting a ton of support from smaller studios. I think the Switch is an even bigger and more logical platform for many of those games.

Even bigger publishers seem far more open minded this Gen and seem eager to put their games on it.

I think it's the perfect secondary console for you.

let me add... Xenoblade and Metroid next year.
Who knows what else is in store?

My Super Mario Odyssey, from Amazon, should be home tomorrow.

They had more today, but just checked and now they are gone.

I want to get one but I decided to go with the One X for now...I'ts going to be hard, especially when Xenoblade comes out,and Mario looks awesome also...I played BoTW on the WiiU so it's not as bad for that one...we shall see on December 1st...

You have indeed (recommended Switch). I'm still pondering.

Are you saying (in the bolded part) that it will be a good console for indies? If so, yeah, it sounds like it will be. Off to a good start.

There are 4 or 5 games I want: Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Xenoblade, Metroid.

Anyhow, yeah, I'm still pondering, but I'm leaning towards it.

Might be, yeah.

From what I've seen from launch until now, I believe it will be.

It’s the first Nintendo console I’ve owned since the N64, and I have all 3 systems as well.

You won’t be disappointed. I’ve been gaming a long time and it’s one of the few times I’d honestly say it’s worth buying a console just to play one game. BOTW is one of the best video games I’ve ever played!
Add Mario Kart to that list, and now Odyssey, plus Metroid next year and you really can’t lose.

Same boat. I think I want it over a ps4 right now to sit next to the One X.

Yeah, Xenoblade might be good, I don't know.

Is Metroid next year?

Metroid doesn't have a date yet but I'd bet it releases late 2018 to early 2019. Xenoblade is out this December. Don't know if you'll like Xenoblade though. Its an acquired taste (JRPG troupes)

Hm, that's the same thing you said ("acquired taste") about Persona. I liked P5 at first, but I ended up quitting halfway through. I didn't acquire the taste.

I'm not sure about Xenoblade. The story looks pretty corny, I know that much. Maybe those are the tropes you're talking about.

I look at the Switch as the perfect 2nd console next to the PS4. If you are a fan of SP games, and exclusives... I think it's a match made in heaven

If only you could remote play your PS4 games on the Switch like you can the Vita... Oh how great that would be.

Again stereotypical JRPG troupes. If you've got no tolerance for it or grinding, its not for you. I grew up on it so its pretty much I've built up an immunity.

Not a fan of grinding.

Hm, I'll put Xenoblade on the back burner, then.

So if I buy a Switch and a pro controller, is there anything else I should get with it?

I mean besides Zelda. Like, another accessory?

I’m considering getting one these. The only Nintendo console I’ve never owned has been the Wii U.

I haven't purchased anything else for it besides the chargeable grip for the joypads. I didn't mind using those so not sure how much better the Pro controller is, but if you're looking for a cheaper chargeable grip this one works pretty well. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nintendo-joy-con-charging-grip/5730706.p?skuId=5730706

Also if you're going to be mobile a screen protector is probably a good idea. Seems the screen can be scratched fairly easily.

The only other thing I bought was an SD card but that's only because I'm going all digital with the Switch.
