Was playing Assassins Creed 4 tonight (incredible game by the way and I hate the series so thats saying something) and Blackbeard referred to one of his underlings as "Mr. Hands". Made me laugh and reminded me of my scarred youth on the internet in high school (don't Google Mr. Hands if you don't get the reference.)

Turns out Blackbeards second in command was in fact Israel Hands or Mr. Hands for short.

Sadly I know exactly what you are referring to :(..I don't think many copies of that video still exist though.

Although I took great pleasure in tormenting others by showing them that vid lol the reactions were priceless

Israel Hands is one of Long John Silver's pirates in Treasure Island (the book/film).

So the pirate reference wouldn't have been lost on me.

I didn't know the name was taken from an actual pirate though.
 
Yea I thought it was kind of neat.

It is. There are a couple of current international rugby players called 'Israel'.

One is Israel Dagg. The other is Israel Folau.

Israel Hands beats both (hands down).
