I had it at flop when I heard Kickboxer re-boot...

I like the original. In fact I am a big fan of a lot of Van Damme's earlier work. Hard Target, Kickboxer, Blood sport, A.W.O.L (Lionheart).

This reboot is just typical Hollywood casting Americans or Hollywood names in parts they really should not be in.

I feel you, JCVD is easily my favorite late 80' early 90' action stars. I really enjoyed Kickboxer, Lionheart, Double Impact, Cyborg, Bloodsport, Hard Target, Universal Soldier, Sudden Death. I even don't mind his earlier stinkers like the Quest...

Bautista will be cool in that role. His stuff in Guardians of the Galaxy makes me feel like he's got a unique approach to acting where I'm getting a little bored with The Rock.

Might as well take place at Detroit. Of all the advancement in technology to make realistic vista & effect, ethnic authenticity seems the hardest thing to do....

This is the kind of thing that put me off watching Exodus.

Tong Po wasn't exactly Thai either though...

Is the new Kickboxer a straight up re-boot? Or is it taking liberties with the story, setting/characters/etc...
