Via Twitter, director Paul Feig has revealed the new costumes for his Ghostbusters reboot.

The costumes, designed to be worn by new 'busters Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, are very similar to those worn in the original but with a hint of firefighter in the reflective stripes.

This is the second piece of Ghostbusters news today - we also found out that the Channing Tatum-led Ghostbusters movie, which was meant to exist alongside Feig's, may not happen after all.

I liked both Spy and Bridesmaids, and I want to f*** all the Hemsworths, and I think all those other ladies are fabulously funny.

The special effects looked great too.

It looks like camp fun. I'm not ready to write this one off yet. Like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. If you enjoyed Austin's work, and were willing to go in expecting a fun spoof, its totally enjoyable.

No liking the blatant black stereotype character.

It's not about females or colour... So all the 'jokes' we've shown are to do with those two

Being honest, the trailer has me concerned. I hope to be wrong.

Trailer was most downvoted in YouTube history.

I didn't know this was a complete reboot. At least I don't remember that. That's dumb. It should have been a continuation of the arc, not a reboot. This is going to fail on epic proportions. The film is already DOA.

Melissa McCarthy has responded to criticism of the Ghostbusters reboot, saying she finds the original trailer “very confusing”.

The past week saw the trailer for the all-female take on the sci-fi comedy become the most disliked trailer on YouTube with over 600,000 thumbs down votes. McCarthy, who stars in the film alongside Kristen Wiig, has now spoken about her concerns over the way the trailer presents the story.

“It’s a reboot not a remake,” she said on The John, Jay & Rich Show. “I know its weird that they say [in the trailer] ‘30 years ago’, but in this movie its like the first one didn’t happen. It’s a great story but it’s told totally differently. It’s four unlikely heroes, it’s in New York City, ghosts are taking over; it’s that same classic story but it’s not 30 years later ... it’s not dependent on the first one.”

McCarthy also said that she raised the issue but was ignored.

“Believe me the question was asked,” she said. “I think that it’s very confusing. But then everyone said we don’t care what you think.”

This is one of those movies that looks so bad it actually makes you a little angry. Just watching those characters pissed me off a little.

What's more confusing is original cast members are appearing in cameos, but not as their original characters.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Why-Bill-Murray-Finally-Agreed-Do-Ghostbusters-Cameo-80047.html

When Murray pops up, he will play a character who is out to disprove and debunk the new Ghostbusters. This could be something as simple as a clip of an "expert" on a talk show, or it could prove to be a bit more substantial. Either way, while it sounds like he had fun on set and shooting his part, he didn’t want to overstay his welcome or be a distraction.

This combined with the new 'confusing' trailer marketing this almost as a sequel is a bunch of WTF.

I was hoping this movie would work somehow, but it seems like a confused project.

If they want to go Feminist Ghostbusters having an all female team, I guess I'm fine with that. IMO, it would have been sensible to have the team leader be Sigourney Weaver as Dana being basically the owner of the Ghostbusters company. Maybe the original team is MIA or dead need to be rescued?

I could see a character like Ray Stantz getting in over his head studying the paranormal almost like Tony Stark did with Loki's Staff. What if they setup Ray as the antagonist? What could be a more challenging bad guy than a rogue former Ghostbuster?

I can see Ray having a mad scientist side and Dan Aykroyd can play a bad guy when he wants to.

You should have written the script.

I have to say that I have the opposite opinion of many people out there and actually got a good laugh out of the trailer. Might see this in the theaters if I get the chance.

I would just like to know if it's a remake or a reboot or a sequel. I think they hired the same marketing team from Terminator: Genysis

It's a reboot, but I found out that a while ago after an article. Personally, I think they should have went for a "daughters of the ghostbusters" type of deal, but that's just me.

This is one of the franchises that you cannot "reboot." It needs to be an offshoot. I like McCarthy, Wiig, Garcia as the cast but I think they completely misread how this film should have been written.

Looks boring. Like Hollywood has run out of ideas again. Not that I've ever been a fan of Ghostbusters. The ghosts in these movies have always just been too unrealistic for my tastes. I did like the marshmallow ghost tho just because it is a marshmallow ghost.

Maybe Ramis and Akroyd and the director didn't really want or need realistic ghosts because it was a comedy? CGI wasnt really a thing and those guys made a lot of money out of making so much out of so little.

It's not that Hollywood doesn't have original ideas, it's that they want ideas that'll make them tons of cash. For every Ghostbuster and Huntsman flop, there are several remakes and sequels making a ton of cash. You could argue that many execs in Hollywood have simply gotten more money hungry or that they're responding to the changing market of the film industry, but when I see movies like Hateful Eight, Ex Machina, or Inside Out and see what the top money makers are, it's easy to see the mindset of those in charge of production companies are going for. People say they want original movies, but they rarely come out on top these days unless it really catches on fire, the way Avatar did. The public has a hand in what type of movies get made, and they almost always go for the sequels/remakes.

The public didn't have an hand in this. The public vehemently slammed the movie trailer for being a bad cross between Hot Tub Time Machine and the Ghostbusters series, but they'll make it anyway. And it's on a low enough budget for them to not care.
