IGN: Zelda Fans Create 2D Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time fans are restyling the game as a 2D adventure for the PC.

Reminiscent of classic Zelda games, the remake - built "from scratch, slow and old-fashioned" by just nine people - is only 10 percent complete, but already it features the classic top-down perspective and a fabulous 16-bit score.

For more information about the project, check out the website or download it yourself. It's not clear how long the demo will be available for, as Nintendo is traditionally rather protective of its franchises.

We loved the 3D remake of Nintendo's classic Ocarina of Time, hailing it as the perfect way to "re-live a masterpiece". For more about the Ocarina of Time, check out our wiki.

That is really cool. I have enjoyed all the Zelda titles. (Beat Zelda 1 to Twilight Princess Wii including the gameboy games. Since then though have not had a Nintendo console.)

Sounds interesting for sure. It reminds me that I have to get some new stuff for my N64. I forget which cable is missing, but one of them are.
