Well just look at all the worlds ills that are caused by video games, school shootings, grand theft auto/car jacking/criminal mischief and quite possibly war crimes, the Red Cross is just thinking of the children...
Video games don't cause the issues..people with mental issues do. That's like attributing gun violence to the gun's instead of the stupid people with the guns, or saying that forks make people fat. Should we be blaming cars for driving drunk too?
People blame the medium as a scapegoat instead of the people themselves.

Not at all, most stories of people blaming video games for their malfeasance make me laugh, especially so when it's parent using it as an excuse for their lack of parenting.
That right there is up there with "teachable moment" that absolutely sets me on fire. I want to smack the crap out of people that say it.
You should do it, then blame it on the violent video games you play and that you didn't learn anything from the experience...that'll teach em'!
