INNOVATION BY DESIGN: A Q&A WITH MICROSOFT'S CARL LEDBETTER LIVE

Keep this updated? I need to go to class, but I'd love to know the details.

I will try but I got a date with my accountant right when it starts. You can put your questions in before the interview starts however.

At the beginning of the interview the journalist let everyone know that they would not be discussing anything regarding specs or APIs.

That being said though during the live interview Carl did say that there are things about the X1 that have yet to be revealed to the public.

Wonder if that ties in to the Phil Harrison confirmation at EE that the CPU and GPU have been upgraded? My personal thought is he was talking about the upclocks though

At this point it is anyone's guess what it means. Although the 36o had a similar secrets about the GPU last gen prior to the system launching. I remember when screens started to come out for Gears and people were in disbelief that the game was on 36o hardware.

Probably going to wait until around the launch of the ps4 to try to kill the hype of the ps4 launch.

I wish this wasn't true, but I'm sure it is. I just wish it wasn't because I'm dying for more details!

What was the context of that response? What was the line of questioning that lead to that response.

  • One thing we've seen recently, with Apple, is their inability to keep a secret. I know that a lot of the roadmap seems to have leaked for the future of Microsoft/Xbox (which of course you can't comment on). But generally, are leaks frustrating internally? Or is the element of surprise really not hugely important to your team?

  • Everyone loves surprises.

  • We all focus on keeping things we work on a secret. When something gets out before we want it to, it's really frustrating.

  • It's sort of like knowing about the party before an amazing invitation is sent out.

  • Or a surprise party that's been spoiled. :(
BY CARL LEDBETTER 10:41 AM YESTERDAY

  • Ha. (I feel bad for laughing at that frowny face, though!) I imagine there's just a lot of misinterpretation, too. And you have to sit there, hear the commentary, and stay silent, unable to elaborate on your intent.

  • Even now, there are a few details that remain to be revealed over the One.

  • Exactly

QFT, I remember it made people physically sick it seemed on the forums that it wasn't on a high end pc.

I dont know that "Everyone loves surprises" really insinuates that there are secrets to be revealed.
