Take this for what it's worth. They say the guy has a good track record. I don't pay enough attention to know one insider from the next. But here's what he said about the rumored GG RPG.

According to Shinobi, Guerrilla Game’s new open world RPG is going to be quite different from their previous works. The game is apparently set in an open world environment full of “exotic creatures and lush environments”, Shinobi said. In addition, and this is the juicy bit, the game will also have robotic dinosaurs as well, meaning that the game is still set in a Sci-Fi setting which seems fitting according to Guerrilla’s past works.

He also provided details on the game’s main protagonist, which actually happens to be a red headed female. No name was given at this time, but it’s very interesting to see the direction that Guerrilla is taking with this new IP. Shinobi continued on to say the target date set for this new IP is Fall 2015, with a full reveal at next year’s E3. A teaser trailer could appear this year, but that’s based on our own speculation.

Sounds intriguing. I'm all in favor of another open-world RPG. They mention he also said it's similar in scope to the Witcher 3, which is ... really big. The setting sounds good -- "lush" environments and weird creatures. Unfortunately, it's not coming until late next year.

Red-headed protagonist sounds delicious.

I'm surprised to see concept art. I thought the game wasn't announced yet, just rumored.

I'm a little disappointed at those shots. It makes me think it's a shooter RPG along the lines of Destiny or Borderlands. That would make sense, with GG's background, but I'm not a big shooter fan, and I was hoping GG was moving away from shooters with this game. I hope there are other combat options.

Not a big fan of the masked faces, either. I prefer to see characters' faces. Maybe you'll be able to, who knows. This is just concept art, after all.

Already been confirmed that said concept art isn't from their new game. I'll fish the link when I get back to my computer.

Oh yeah? Good to know.

So it's from Shinobi eh? He always seems bang on the money. I'm eager to see this at E3 (hopefully it's at E3).

Damn, I just saw this thread, saw the concept art... got hyped then deflated with this post.

f*** that looks awesome.

It's good to see Guerrilla Games taking a stab at another genre. Open world RPGs are where it's at.

Seems like it won't be ready to be revealed at E3 this year.

Any chance we get a glimpse into your new IP before E3?

No, we won't be showing it right now. Simple reason: we are confident enough in the game, but it's not something we can show and expect reasonable feedback. There is simply a lot of work that we need to do before we show it to our fans.

Aw, mang. Well, I hope we get some info about it, even if it isn't shown. Confirmation of robot dinosaurs or redheads or something.

Agreed.

Open world always seems better. Bigger, more to do, more flexibility what to do. Good to see GG try something new. The latest KZ is a trainwreck.

Umm Shadowfall was rated well on metacritic and sold well. Most PS4 gamers prefer BF4 and CoD multiplayer, that doesn't mean Shadowfall was bad or a failure.

sorry naty your copy is hard to read

“No, we won’t be showing it right now. Simple reason: we are confident enough in the game, but it’s not something we can show and expect reasonable feedback. There is simply a lot of work that we need to do before we show it to our fans.” “Great, the team is very positive about the work they’ve put in so far and the results,” they said when asked about the new IP by another user. We realize this isn’t much to go on, but at least we know that they’re making progress. However, there is yet another comment that caught our attention.

“Open games are a very different beast, and an unprepared team can spend loads of people and money making content for an open game (I used to work for Ubisoft, so I know the pitfalls to avoid). Thankfully, we have an ever curious technical team that is not resting on its laurels and investigating new frontiers that help us push our content in new an interesting directions. As for open, specifically, you’ll have to wait for the next game’s announcement to see what it does.” This response came after a fan asked about Guerrilla’s plans on making more open games. The last part seems to hint that the company’s upcoming game might be open-world. We’re hoping for an RPG, but it’s still to early to tell.
