And I can't believe Sega has only sold that many consoles. I used to think Sega was popular once, even though I only ever bought a Dreamcast from Sega, but I enjoyed every day with it until they announced they are stopping it.
Like SevenDead1ySinz said they didn't have a huge presence during the 8-bit gen. and only really came to be a power in the US during the 16-bit era. They then squandered their consumer sentiment and market share with half baked add ons 32X/Sega CD. Which in turn effected dev/pub support that only deteriorated with the Saturn and finally the Dreamcast.
