Straight Time ( 1978 )

Max Dembo (Dustin Hoffman) is an ex-con fresh out from a stint and ready to take a new perspective on life. the film opens with his release back into society where after which he has talks with his parole officer, looks for a job, and pays a visit to some old-time friends... but is it all as easy as that? is he really a changed man? has the system done him good or do old habits die hard? such answers are never clear in Straight Time, a film which prefers to travel along it's own blurred shade of grey

a true overlooked gem from the 70's. i don't know why i never hear about this film, it has got all the makings of a cult classic

genre: character study, crime, drama

Cool, I'll check it out , I'm finding myself more interested in older or obscure Movies devoid of CGI, a million cutscenes and explosions every 5 minutes.

I just purchased the Blu Ray version of "The Deep" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075925/ last week on Ebay I haven't seen it since I was a kid, Hopefully it'll still be as good as I thought it was back in the day.

nice, hope you enjoy it. blockbusters are great for taking my mind off things, but movies with depth allow me to put my mind into them you know? and man, the trend of epileptic cuts is my biggest pet peeve in films. i couldn't finish taken 2 recently because of that

the deep looks interesting. i'll definitely give that a go, i've been watching a lot of sea/ocean movies lately so that sounds perfect
