I totally get that and I agree to a point, hopefully all of the new engine work they've done will make the game run better on consoles. You can't really blame them for not doing a One X patch though, the game came out 2 years before the console.
Oh man, I could go on and on about how the 2 years shouldn’t matter, but like I said that’s just because I’m so bitter lol.
Hope you’re right though! While I can’t pay full price on principle, no problems picking it up on the cheap down the line.
Being that it was only moderately successful on the X1 there was really no reason to pull staff away from the new game they were working on to update it for a console that's going to have a small installed base for quite a while. It wasn't updated for the Pro either and that console came out a year before and the game sold roughly twice as many copies on the PS4. Both consoles improve it slightly with their boost modes but I'm guessing it would have taken quite a bit of work to fix what the problems were and it just wasn't worth their time. That being said they never should have released a game that ran as poorly as it did on the base consoles, they knew for years what these machines could do and they should have done more work to get it right even if that meant toning down the physics based mayhem a bit.
This developer lol, no shame. Reviews came out today and it looks like the only version reviewed is PC, so one day from release and still minimal info on console versions. And it’s still getting knocked for technical issues!

Yeah, I should've known better than to get my hopes up after seeing the video JinCA posted. I've never played a single game in this series and it looks to stay that way.
Man, JC2 was a pile load of fun. It's always cheap and BC too.
Yeah and I don’t know if people are overreacting but there’s a lot of talk on reddit about it looking worse than the third game.

I've decided not to buy it, NO reviews for the console versions and people on resetera who have played it on the One X aren't saying much good about it other than the framerate is improved. Sounds like the pop in is really bad and the graphics are pretty poor all around.
I rented it and I can confirm there is some bad pop in but the framerate is solid. I’ll say when you expect the terrible graphics it’s not as bad, it oddly fits the game somehow. It’s weird they are worse than JC3 though, don’t know how they pulled that off!
That seems to be the theme though. It felt like the gliding is also not as fluid, and there are less destructible objects. Like there are indestructible concrete bridges now.
You can definitely have fun with this game but feels like a budget title. I wish they would market the game that way instead of continuing to play the bait and switch

Honestly, didn't have a problem with jc3 framerate on my xbox one s, granted I didn't play it at release (bought it on digital sale) but I'm guessing some are more prone to be bothered by it than others.
Didn't finish jc3 but what I played was fun, think I had too many open world games at that point in time that it just fell out.

Yeah it’s not nearly as bad as launch, not even close. The frame rate will still tank but it recovers much quicker. Much more playable. When the game launched it would just stay at 10-15 fps for several minutes, especially in cities
