Killzone sells 2.1 million copies

Impressive numbers but if the ps4 sold over 4 million consoles, that means that roughly only 50% of ps4 owners bought this game despite the amount of noise generated about how great this game was meant to be.

I suspect publishers would be thrilled with their game selling to half the install base on any given platform.

Not trying to start anything but I seem to remember reading somewhere that Ryse was pulling in the highest returns/trade-in at Gamestop. Not that I think that game warrants such a dubious distinction because I really liked the Roman Saga.

Don't want a drag an X1 comparison in here ;-)

Around 50% of PS4 owners seems pretty damn good to me.

Maybe, but given how hyped a game it was i just think it's funny that only half the owners picked up one of the biggest exclusives. Played it for about an hour in buddies place last week and it seemed very average in terms of a shooter game to me. Graphically, it is very pretty though.

Why? No other PS4 or XB1 exclusive game got half of the owners.

I think people are nitpicking things here.

That's hilarious. You of all people to make a comment on someone nitpicking. :)

Woah, wait a sec. When I post something, it's in response to people trying to pass off nonsense as facts. It's not my fault people don't like being called out on their false statements. ;)

But seriously dude, crying foul because it didn't "sell more"?

Crying foul? Are we maybe assuming something?

Well he has a valid point, what other game minus COD/BF4 (if they even) has that kind of attach rate? KZ:SF is probably the best selling first party title between both systems unfortunately (didn't like it too much myself).

Yeah, I suppose. I was reading over sales of other titles on both systems, and it seems about right for the big ones. From the topics I was seeing on a few forums, it seemed like every PS4 would be sold with a copy of killzone.

No offense meant, hence the smilies.

I wasn't offended. i just wanted to make it clear I wasn't trying to start a fanboy fight. My reply made came off a little strong now that I read it back.

I feel its numbers are inflated due to launch, though that isn't a bold thing to say.

If KZSF released on PS3, with BF4 and Ghosts in the same month, and it still sold 2 million copies, I'd be surprised. K2 and K3 sold, I think, around 3 million copies each in their lifetime.

There were definitely PS4 owners that gave SF a shot that had no experience with the series.

Either way, glad to hear it sold as well as it did. With a "greatest hits" version pretty much guaranteed at this point, it will definitely become the highest selling KZ game.

Now, where is the first map pack, GG?
