Kittens, Puppies, Animals = Dawwwws.....

A turn that I didn't expect. Had the perfect dog that would fit my lifestyle. Got along with other dogs. Cat friendly. Has been there for a while. The dog would be with me at work most days. I have dog walkers in the family. I don't travel much. They denied my application.

I contacted them multiple times though email. Contacted them through social media. No responses. So, I decided to just fill out an application. I'm not sure this "rescue" is on the level. I shall do more research on them.

good luck, any new update?

Did they deny you because you don't have a fence? a lot of places I've seen in the past require a 6 foot fence around the backyard, that was the case when I got my previous dog Kody. We got him from a rescue (I hate saying that, he was a puppy that we paid for we didn't pull him from a burning car lol) and they had rules like we had to have a 6 foot fence, he had to be allowed in the house etc.

Sorry that happened either way, that's disappointing for sure and I know you'd give a dog in need a great home.

No explanation. They seem shady. Their dogs that needed a fence stated so.

Still looking. Saw a cute pit puppy and put in a general application so they have it on file. Not sure I want a puppy right now though.

Thanks for the kind words, J.

You're welcome, I know you are an animal lover :)

A puppy can be a pain man, Boomer is almost 2 and is still a big dope sometimes, actually a lot of the time lol. I don't know if you own or rent but check on your insurance if it covers pits, that could end up being a problem.

I almost ram into this problem with Rose and Jax. Huskies were on the blacklist, but the guy I ended up talking to had one also and said he would have no problem insuring me.

Why were they on the list? was it because of destructive behavior or biting? They don't make any top 10 lists I've found of dogs who bite, Pits are generally top of the list in fatal dog bites or bites that cause major injury.

Said they were aggressive, but mine are just licking machines.

I've never met a mean husky or been told by anyone that they've been bitten, I'm glad they decided to cover you anyway.

totes, mine was super friendly, a bit too friendly my mum would say...where my husky would run to you in hopes of a pat, my German shepherd would give you the stare of death if she didn’t know you.

My two shepherd/husky mixes are sort of a mix of both. They are both nervous dogs unfortunately, Boomer barks a lot at people who walk by and they both go crazy when someone walks a dog by our house. Heidi is a sweetheart but she does bark a bit and she seems to really not like any other dogs than Boomer. He is the bigger of the two and younger but he's also more nervous. He loves me and my Mom and loves to play etc but with strangers he'll be nice to them if we let them in but if they move their hand fast or something he jumps like he's afraid they are going to hit him and I don't know why, I've never hit him and he doesn't flinch at all if I move quickly or anything like that but when a stranger does he always reacts. He's a pretty big dog (100lbs) so I hope he settles down with that, I don't want to have to worry about him around new people too much.
