I just caught up on your posts, sorry to hear it man it's rough. Puppies are a lot of work, the first few nights we had Heidi home she cried all night unless she could see someone and even then it was really bad but she eventually calmed down and then slept through the night. Puppies are big bursts of energy and then sleep, you can't run them too much when they are small because you have to watch their joints so then you need to find other ways to keep them occupied while they are awake. This pains me, but I have to bring him back. He deserves a family where there can be multiple people around him. He needs a big fenced in yard so he can run without inhibition. He’s a machine and has no downtime at all during the day. This is his breed, age, and his personality.
It’s killing me to do this, but I have to for him. It’s a 24/7 job with him, and me being unmarried, and no kids, it’s a full time job, and I can’t give that to him and it’s not fair.
I’m sobbing, and it hurts, but I have to be honest.
I'm sitting here at work and he's with me. He's passed out on my feet. I just can't stop crying.I just caught up on your posts, sorry to hear it man it's rough. Having a puppy is a lot of work, those cute little faces are lies they look so sweet and innocent and then they bite you like crazy lol. We almost gave Heidi up after a few days, it was Summer and didn't have AC and she cried a lot and was just a very whiney puppy but I couldn't bring myself to do it and now she's here with me 4 years later the only thing really keeping me sane after all that has gone wrong in the past year with my Mom and Brother passing and having to give Boomer up.I emailed them back and told them I'd like the full week. I was in so much pain this morning knowing I was letting him go, more than last night knowing he was staying. They said absolutely. I wanted perfection from day one, even though that's not possible, and getting a little aggravated is normal. I don't think it will hurt any more in a week than it did this morning. Work told me to take multiple breaks through the day and go to the park. They're fine with it.
He's mostly Australian Shepherd. He looks like a blend of that and Border Collie. I have to read up on them because this little dude sniffs non-stop when on walks. He would make an awesome drug sniffing dog.Having a puppy is a lot of work, those cute little faces are lies they look so sweet and innocent and then they bite you like crazy lol. Just make sure that you want to let him go and that you aren't just frustrated and tired, give yourself time and know that this part is temporary, it's a lot of work and frustration but if you are able to handle it and get through it he could end up being one of the greatest things in your life for years to come. That being said if you absolutely can't deal with a puppy after giving it more time maybe look at adopting an adult dog from a rescue or something, hell even and older one although your time with them will be shorter.
What breed is the little guy?
Ok... first weekend done. He was a great dog this weekend. He had once accident, pee, but it really wasn't an accident per se as he was really excited chasing the laser, like a cat, and it just happened. We went to the dog park and he was able to play with two puppies. He did great. One puppy got annoyed and did some aggressive barking biting, not to cause damage or anything, and he was like "Chill bro!" Then we went for a long walk at a park yesterday and he met a couple of girls (dogs), and he was a great, energetic puppy with them and it was reciprocated. He met an 8 year old pug who was fine for a few seconds, then snapped at him because he's so over puppy s***, and he was all, "Aight, you do you." He also met a gigantic husky, 80lbs+ (not fat), and a pitbull, and he was perfect with them both. All in all, he did great this weekend which also included two long stays in the crate where I had family gatherings I had to attend.
He's also doing amazing training wise as well. Really smart and picks things up rather quickly.
He is done with the vaccinations and neutered.Sounds like things are going well has he already had all of his vaccinations? if not be careful taking him out in public.
