People are awkward hearing about random peoples family losses irl, I know I am at least. Hearing about animal losses isn't as taboo and not nearly as huge a loss (usually), so people tend to show more empathy on their sleeves in those cases.
And his dad prob was a dick, dogs dying of loss usually isn't.
Maybe don’t take it to Florida, or Texas
