Look, say what you will. I think this game looks like fun. The graphics/style looks nice, and I feel as if this could be the Kameo of this generation.

Weakest looking next gen game for me so far but who knows could turn out to be fun but the OPM preview suggests a lot needs to be done before that happens.

Looks like fun but will probably wait a bit before picking it up. Too many other top tier games for me to play first.

It doesn't look as bad as I thought but still not something I would buy. Probably be worth a rental though.

Platformers rank 2nd amongst my favorite genres, I plan on getting PS4 on day 1, but I have 0 interest in this game.

Don't know what it is, and even with my man-crush on Cerny, I can't find a reason to play this game.

I haven't seen a whole lot of platforming in the Knack video's released thus far. Looks more like a beat em up to me.

Most disappointing looking ps4 exclusive, when it should have been the best looking coming from ps4's architect. Looks like a ps2 game. Okay im exaggerating, but kind of like the jak games on ps2.

It's Crash Bandicoot with graphical upgrades and some new mechanics. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing - if I were going to have a PS4 it'd be a game I'd love to pick up at 19.99, but couldn't justify 59.99 for.

This game isn't doing it for me so far. Seems alright, but wouldn't be a purchase for me even if I were getting a PS4 at launch.

Yeah, I'm not seeing much platforming from this so far. Makes me wonder about the quality of said platforming. This is when you gotta hand it to Nintendo. They really do got the best 3D platforming in town.

EDIT: Chane my mind, looks like it'll have some platforming here and there. Some interesting ones too. Hopefully it'll have a balance of combat and platforming.

Visually the game looks beautiful and generic at the same time.

I'll get it when it's in the $20 - $30 range.

Knack does look fun. I see this as the PS4's Kameo. A solid launch title.

This game would look great for a PS3 game, but not as a PS4 title. Same with Crimson Dragon on Xbox One - that game looks like a straight up port, which is why it's only $20.

Scathing Knack preview in the Official Playstation magazine of all places....I don't know what the rules are here, but if you search you can find scans of the article online. PV is there a 'no scan' policy?

The tag line is 'If you tolerate this your children will probably kick you in the shins.'

I was actually hoping for more from this game...ah well.

Yeah that's from the other month. Very strong words from the official PS mag.

As for scans on here? I think they are a no?

It looks like a ps2 game. Sony should get their head shot by taliban for this garbage they're putting out. And this is supposed to be from the creator of the ps4, who is supposed to know the hardware inside out.

Digital Foundry: I think the thing that excites me most about the PS4 is that it's a fixed hardware design, developers can get the most visually from it but they don't need to just concentrate GPU power on, say, slightly higher quality shadowmaps. They've got GPU compute sitting there that can be doing new things, exciting things. Is this something we'll be seeing further on down the line? Is this something you're pathfinding with Knack?

Mark Cerny: Knack is a small title. Knack will not be leading the way in terms of utilisation. We'll be looking much more towards teams that have done that in the past like Ubisoft with Assassin's Creed and Watch_Dogs, Naughty Dog with their next titles or Sony Santa Monica with theirs. I think Killzone is going to be doing that. All we are doing ultimately is setting it up so that developers can take it any way that they want go. So if increased visual fidelity is what is most interesting to that team, that is what they can focus on. We just wanted to be sure that they could also dig in on GPGPU [general purpose computing on GPU] as well.

Shot in the head by the Taliban for releasing Knack is a bit much.

This game should have been the graphical showcase title for ps4 coming from the hardware creator himself. This is the game that shouldve shown that 50% gpu advantage for ps4 (if there was one). It's hard to believe that this game is developed by the guy who help pioneer the ps4 architecture. It looks so generic even most multiplatform cross gen titles beat it visually.

Dude just said it was a small team. I can't help but think with him being the lead architect for PS4, his time was stretched thin. Is what is man. Looks like a simple platformer. Not sure where you're getting this "should have this; should have that" stuff from.

Cerny said the advantages he proclaims the PS4 will have won't start to surface for a few years. Also, I don't think he ever said "it is 50% more powerful."

Concur entirely. The one thing I will fault them for on this is that there's no way this game should be launching at a $60 price point - it just seems like it's an ideal lower-price/PSN+/pack-in title but hardly compelling at the $60 price point.

Looks interesting and will keep an eye on that. But definitely not 60 bucks.

Was just saying that you'd expect a game that has the name of ps4's architect to have jaw dropping visuals, but that isn't the case here. development team size notwithstanding. this game really doesnt seem to be something you'd charge 60 for, it's a very basic platformer. this should've been a f2p title. either ways, i wont ever be getting this game even though i'll have a ps4 next year. visually there's lots of better stuff out there. i did overreact a bit with a comment earlier now that i think about it lol. nvm.

I think this game is 60 bucks because there will be people that will buy whatever launch game at 60 bucks. Just the way it is. I think if you can wait on Knack, which doesn't seem to be the most difficult thing, you could definitely get this for 40 or less in a couple months after launch. I still think it'll end up as a Plus title too.
