Pretty smart of Sony to hide the console since it’s been months of inflating its specs in the imaginations of gamers. Game changing SSD, RDNA3, revolutionary controller, tempest engine, and Kraken decompression.

Pinch of salt and all that.

Has there been any word yet on how much ram the OS uses up on the new consoles? The SX UI currently displays at 1080p. Would you prefer a 4K UI and a GB less ram for games or 1080p and extra GB? The current gen uses around 3GB for the OS didn’t it?

Actually Pro has a additional 1 GB of slower ram for the OS and it's a bit sluggish at times.
When the ram runs at different speeds this can happen.

It’s a separate pool of ram for OS and CPU. It doesn’t run at varying speeds. It will run at 336 GB/s constant. More than enough for 4K home screen. What was the speed of the ram that made the PS4 pro run sluggish at 4K?

If Sony isn't pulling too many resources just to run the UI at 4K/HDR that's fine but if devs would rather have that memory for games I'm 100% fine with a 1080p upscaled UI. The Pro has a native 4K dashboard while the One X is upscaled and I don't hear anyone complain that the One X dash isn't high res enough.

So, yeah, exactly what I thought. Some source even your Sony blinders has to preface with "if this source is correct."

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

So your logic is by not allowing no possibility but, in fact, a CERTAINTY that his information is legit that it's somehow a bad thing? This is exactly why you tend to stick your foot all the way in your mouth every single time. His information has been quite accurate in the pass, based on his actual inside sources, but even by that will I not grant him 100% of those odds not turning up correct. That's what logical thinking is rather than blinders, something you tend to wear quite often.

The only way I see anything RDNA3 related making it into a console is if it's a feature that the console maker actively worked on and is going to allow AMD to include in future hardware but that's still almost surely not happening.

That's exactly what it is. It was a collaboration. AMD didn't come up with it on their own. And that's the point of it all.

If it shows up in RDNA 2, that would place the same feature set in their competitor's console as they too are using the full RDNA 2 architecture. So it sounds like it's further out than that, based on Cerny, the engineer and this here source as it is not in the RDNA 2 architecture at all.

I don't care about res on the dashboard, considering I played 720p games this gen a 1080p dashboard seems fine... I'm more worried about the xsx dashboard being as sluggish as xone this gen.
Also, xonex runs at 1080p right? Haven't been a problem for me.

I don't know why people are so fixated on RDNA 3 features, it could well be that Sony has some specific RDNA2 feature that they co-developed that is only available to them for now, that's more likely than anything RDNA3 as that's still so far off and as Hrudey has pointed out RDNA2 isn't even out yet for desktop hardware.

It's one thing to mention something because it makes complete sense than to mention it out of fear of it being true because you are hoping desperately that it's not.

Something just like that is VERY, VERY possible.

The custom could be RDNA 3 based.
We don't know yet but I'm sure things will come to light soon.

Even that if true is backward - RDNA 3 when it is ready might include some features developed in collaboration with Sony (or MS for that matter) but for it to be based on RDNA 3 they'd have to, you know, take something that was in RDNA3 and incorporate it rather than vice versa.

I predict that they'll both have the same number of unsold consoles by Christmas, which is zero to the millionth power. Have no idea on who started manufacturing first or is producing more, which is the only thing this is about anyway.

If it was "Sony brought us this amazing feature that we got into RDNA2" that would pass the test. To say Sony got something from an architecture on a different process node somehow grafted into this node is on its face absurd. When that new architecture is more than a year away, the thought that it was going into production is even more absurd. And if anything remotely if the sort was happening, we'd see

I looked at that time range and there's a lot of talk about what happened in the past and what he believes, and him saying they take slivers of leaks and make guesses. I don't see him saying there's a single feature that showed to l up in 3 that he had been told was ported to Sony's APU. But, of course, one person's guess is good enough for you when it's Pro-Sony.

Honest question: did you think you would have betrayed Xbox or Microsoft by watching that video before indulging into this discussion?

That's truely sad. It's clear whose wearing the blinders here. This discussion is done. LOL!

Yes it seems they’d be better off sticking to the facts which is there are more searches on Google trying to find out about Series X than extrapolating which will sell most by Christmas considering preorders are sold out and they’ll likely sell whatever they can manufacture by Christmas.

This thread's argumentations gets better with each passing day.

Nope, the battery debate was the best of them all. Especially when someone mentioned that the PS5 controller needed a special battery in order to work because it was so technologically advanced or something. For me, nothing will ever reach the ridiculousness of that.

Watching a 47 minute video to disprove a talking point from a serial clown? No. I did a search to see the written stories and even rgt's own site didn't have one. Strange, huh? When you pointed out timestamps later I watched and read the subtitles on that time frame.

But of course, if you think I'm the MS fan boy and you're balanced, show me posts where you criticize Sony ever. Otherwise, stop projecting; we're in the flat screen era and projection is old tech.

Wut lol

Should we call someone who is always pro Sony a Prony? We already have Xbots for those unwavering Xbox touters.
I have slightly more respect to XBots. In football (the real one played with the feet), there is a term called "glory hunters" who always supports the team of the moment, & not the local team.
One of these people is crapgamerreview, who turn from box fanboy to PS fanboy this gen.

It takes serious royalty to stay an xbot given how bad PS crushed XBox. For this, I have some respect

I'll have to play closer attention to RGT. He seemed a bit of a Sony guy. But I've not watched enough to say that for sure.
