The key word here is "IS" rather than gets. LOL! Heck, I'm not sure how hot my car is right now. I know how hot is it can get, though. The word play here is amazing and these individuals are simply reaching, but it makes for a good story, though - entertaining I may add.
I'm Sure they'll both be fine.

Software based...….not really what the discussion was about. If this were a PS5 game and someone even slightly mentioned software based RT in any respect the usual suspects would be back in saying it didn't have RT cores lol. The discussion was Val slamming Ubisoft for having RT reflections at 4K/30fps in an open world game, I told him nobody else is doing that at 60fps and he brought up this game which isn't doing RT reflections at all be it hardware based or software they are still using screen spaced reflections in this update they are just higher quality than on last gen xbox consoles.

You said it doesn't have RT.

Just admit you were wrong, I know that might be hard.

Out of the next gen showings It looks better than everything besides Demon's Souls and R & C.
When it released on X it was made for both generations just like COD MW.

It is a last gen game Val you can spin it how you want but it was made to run on the Xbox One, it does not feature ray traced reflections which was what your original complaint was about it has improved screen space reflections, some guy tweeting it's RT when it's not doesn't prove anything that person is just confused, the official upgrade list that every site is reporting says improved screen space reflections. The fact that they are upgrading the xbox one version of the game should be a tip off :p

It doesn't have hardware based RT reflections which WD:L does which was the basis of the convo, maybe you should admit you butted in before knowing what the conversation was actually about. Having some software based solution for lighting is fine and all but not what we the discussion was about.

Doesn't have RT and it's not a AAA Series X game it's a dressed up Xbox One game. RT was talked about back in March but they haven't mentioned it since and it's never something they bring up when talking about the improvements now, if RT was part of it they'd be talking it up like crazy. You are getting higher res textures, more particles, added shadows to things that didn't have them before and 120fps in MP, RT is not an added feature.

It has RT Real Time Global Illumination. Whether it is software or hardware based is irrelevant. Infact it might be more impressive that it's a software solution and still running 4K 60fps. You said the game doesn't have RT.

Again the convo started talking about Watch Dogs Legion being 4K with RT reflections and being 30fps, he brought up a last gen game getting upgrades that do not include RT reflections, you linked a video as evidence that it has RT only to have it shown that it's software based RT for GI which is totally different. I'm not sure but you may have been one of the people who were pushing the PS5 didn't have RT cores and was going with software over in the PS5 thread earlier in the year, again I don't know that for sure but I don't doubt for a second if a PS4 game getting PS5 upgrades was getting software based RT for global illumination you'd be one of the people trying to downplay the PS5's capabilities because of it.

Are you technically right that it has some form of RT going on? yes, is it what I was talking about with Val? NO and again if you want RT reflections at native 4K you aren't likely to get them at 60fps on either console and no first party game has been announced for either machine that features that combo. Are there going to be games with dynamic res or reconstruction with some RT and hit 60fps? probably down the line, continuous native 4K with RT and 60fps is not likely to happen.

DF doesn't have a clue.
Both are more powerful than what they are claiming.

Yeah they don't have any RDNA2 products to compare them with so they are just guessing, who knows maybe they aren't far off but people acting as if these comparisons are to be taken seriously right now are jumping the gun.

Are we discussing the PS5s RDNA 1.5 again? Because I miss that debate.

Now I'm confused about what "real" RT too... Good job this thread lol
"Real" RT is referring to Hardware-accelerated RT. "not real" is a software solution. Hardware-accelerated RT should in principle produce better RT or faster RT for similar quality.

Well nobody will have a definitive answer until DF has both systems in hand with multi-plat games that have ray tracing.

In regards to system exclusives, Gran Turismo 7 looks like it jumped head first into it because the trailer was soaked in RT.

The debate is good, as long as it is civil.

The problem today, & a lot to do with social media & well, media is the lack of debate & discussion. You are just fed with information, & more often than not hyper bias & one-sided.
I know this as I saw how awful ideas that never pass even basic thinking & smell test (by unbias eyes) get passed around without being challenges & how many things where there are 2 or more sides with pros & cons, with no clear right or wrong, being turned into black & white.

Media & influencers or whoever just taking one side (for or against) instead of taking a deductive stand, presenting pros & cons, arguments & their merits/issues & let listeners/viewers made up their own minds. They are not informing you, they are selling their agenda. We used to have a word for that, Propaganda.

It's sad & funny at the same time, the number of times, that I see people claimed to have independence thoughts, & then their viewpoints align almost 100% & using sentences & talking points to the letters by influence sources.

I am usually happy to go lucky person, but it's hard to ignore how censorship & suppression of information & thought has been getting worse every day & seeing how we are going towards in the world described in 1984 & Deux Ex.

The only issue is, I think barely anyone cared about GT7, Imagine in an entire console gen, you never made a proper sequel.....Maybe the owner is relative to Sony's chef.

I don't care how the conversation started. You are making blatantly false statements. You said "It doesn't have RT"....are you trying to refute you said that? Should I make the quote in font size 10000?

It's "REAL" RT regardless of how its done. Is encoding videos in H264 on the CPU any less real than doing it on the built in hardware encoder (hardware aceleration) on a GPU? No, no it's not. It's just done faster and more efficiently.

No one is calling Crysis Remastered's software RT "not real RT", you guys are delusional lol.

Per MS:

For the Xbox Series X, this work is offloaded onto dedicated hardware and the shader can continue to run in parallel with full performance. In other words, Series X can effectively tap the equivalent of well over 25 TFLOPs of performance while ray tracing.

I suppose this is PR, but if Cerny said it, it’s gospel.
