Is Shawn here to encourage people to buy Sony products or deter them? He used to post informative information in the past. Now he's constantly trying to shove his beliefs on everyone who doesn't agree with his agenda here.

Plainview should be getting a cut of the money he makes by praising and promoting Sony here.

Thank you for doing the right thing.

Wait, what?...

No, don't go there. I think people's choices were made long ago, at least I would hope so, including expressing those opinions in regards to the hardware, although it does seem far more lopsided on the PlayStation side as far as very crucial information being replaced with another's onesided opinion goes. I believe the issue is a lot of those expectations have failed to meet the mark of a lot of people's anticipations list after that long period of waiting, and now that frustration is being spilled off into other places to compensate for that disapproval to help balance that negativity pouring in. What comes with that is having to weather that storm, and, in some cases, create more opinionated stories along the way. The facts are the facts, though, and that can't change if it's already out there.

So, if some individuals become easily offended when those stories gets shot down with a more creditable source, that's not my problem. If you're going to spread bogus information, then you should be equally prepared for the outcome.

And for the record, i was quoted and out of character. So let's make sure we keep the facts straight, ok? 😉

It does go both ways too though, there was a lot of negativity around SeriesX running like an oven, even though these consoles will likely output a ton of heat due to the internals, was shut down by actual facts and temperature readings.

Unfortunately these opinions spread like wildfire and there will always be people spreading misinformation on any side, it's just a case of waiting and looking for the actual facts instead of just opinionated youtubers and twitter heads.

I agree when it comes to private parties that should be people you feel comfortable with and nobody should have to worry that the convo is being monitored or that they could be banned when saying something to a select group of people, then again it's not like our phone calls can't be monitored at any time without us knowing about it.

I think the overall issue is Sony just covering themselves when it comes to liability. The conversations are being had through their online service so while they aren't the ones using the language their platform is the place where this junk may be carried out. I do wonder why that's an issue now though? I stopped using voice chat last gen because I got to sick of hearing what sounded like teenage white kids throw the N word around like crazy. The only time I use voice chat now is if I'm playing with people I actually know and most of my friends who are gamers don't play MP stuff all that much these days.

From what I read there, Sony doesn't monitor or actively listen in on your voice activity. The feature is there for all PlayStation users to report verbal abuse . IF someone does use this feature and report you maybe you should take it up with said person ?

It is supposed to go both ways, and there is still a lot of negativity surrounding the Series X. But like I've been saying many times before, it only seems to go one way as long as PlayStation is somehow sitting on the bottom of that spectrum. Because if I can remember correctly, there was once a particular time where Sony's system was placed under that very same spotlight earlier into next-gen. I didn't hear a word. The only difference is the tables have been reversed is all, with a lot of it true this time around. That's not my problem. I'm not going to appease someone else by beating up on a system -- especially some insecure fanboy just because Microsoft is receiving a lot of backlash right now.

If the facts are there, the facts will be brought into that discussion.

Lol wut, MS is in a much better spot in regards to media attention and feedback, Sony isn't, are you drunk tonight?

Psshhh...Shawn and I already have an ahem...agreement about that gold PS5.

Since he works for Sony he said he could shave off a cool $9,500 in exchange for not banning him.

Come launch day I'm collecting.

If the community only works onesided, i would rather you push the button. :)

MS is listening to people's voice chat?!?!?! ZOMG RAGE! Oh wait, it is Sony? Let's stop a minute and think through this.

This is the double standard that cheeses me off to no end.

Sony isn't listening to anything. The user simply reports the problem to Sony from a recording on that user's end. From what I understand, a kid took his life over being bullied in a PlayStation party chat. Sony took action. So the process is quite different. For a community to flourish, there needs to be structure, and this has been an ongoing issue when playing online for a lot of people. Sooooo here we are.

Nothing about the actual interview it links to sounds all that concerning

That is just more embarrassing click bait

Yea he's just saying they can control the fan via updates, has 3 different sensors to gather data etc, I'm really hoping they learnt from the PS4 noise, I'm actually gonna hold off on some games until the PS5 comes out as I'm getting increasingly annoyed with the noise, as is my partner with my weekend morning gaming sessions.

It was the same with the Series X supposedly running hot. Then there’s leaks that the PS5 runs hotter, Crickets.

There were leaks about dev kit heat last year, dev kits that are now several revisions old and not in use, there were no leaks about series x heat it was people who were given the console saying it got hot not some random leak and even what they said was misinterpreted.

We could but UBISUX

Nobody else is doing it either so who knows? RT is still resource intensive and WD: Legion is an open world game that's probably going to have a lot of puddles and reflective glass on shops etc. Neither MS or Sony have first party games announced that are native 4K with RT and 60fps so why expect it from Ubisoft on a cross-gen launch title? Before anyone says "Halo infinite" it wasn't going to have RT at all at launch and it's not a native 4K game it's dynamic res so that's a big difference.
