There seems to be a standing problem with PS5 titles not being able to go full 4k and even at 1440p still dropping frames, interesting. Wonder why Sonys console have this problem and how it'll escalate in the future?

Yeah DF did mention the odd checkpoint drops throughout the game and how there is some shimmering. Seeing how the game can run at 4k res and near 60fps on a 5700xt, it is definitely a head scratcher why it's at 1440p on the PS5. Having said that, the devs chose to use the Unity engine for this title. From past history, Unity engine, physics and consoles don't go well together so that may also be a factor.
John from DF did say that it's a small team and they couldn't do some things they wanted to.
Yes, makes me wonder how it would look on more capable hardware, we'll see how much better it looks when it's released on the more powerful XSX.
The XSX and PS5 are much closer in power this gen as we have already observed in various head to heads and will continue to be pretty much on par in multiplats until cross-gen is done I believe. At that time, we will see how they can handle the next-gen custom engines.
