I’ve been patiently waiting for that one. Was a big FF7 fan growing up.

You'll love it as a huge FF7 fan myself. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Spent 80 hours to platinum the game. Oddly, my brother who's also a FF7 fan didn't enjoy it as much as I did.

Yes Ps5 is at a constant 1800p res now vs XSX's DRS of 1440p-1800p but how convenient of you to ignore the res advantage there for the Ps5. It dropped 6% in average fps but the dev said it shouldn't so not sure what happened there.

How convenient you neglected to mention it drops to 35fps in your previous posts lol. No worries anyway, the power difference has been established and only going to get better for SX with its full RDNA2 GPU. I kid I kid. Both consoles are performing great tbf and there are pros and cons to both. As an Xbox gamer I’ve never been happier, fast load times, gorgeous games and gamepass. Looking forward to buying a PS5 for PSVR2 and the great exclusive games which are more or less guaranteed on PlayStation.

Yawn.

Wake me up when this is the case for new games. Nice BC system though.

I did mention it when I posted the whole VGTech analysis along with the fps chart. How convenient of you to gloss over that. That 35fps drop is the same area where it had dips to 45fps ish pre-patch. Looks like they didn't fix it.

No, it looks like they raised the res and it struggled even worse. Quite simple really. Anyway, got to go and enjoy all these free games. Laters.

That's what it looks like but according to the dev, it shouldn't be dropping performance after the patch.

Hardly struggling when it was 59.96fps average pre-patch to 56.07fps post with a 56.25% res bump.

In before the usual Xbox fans jump to conclusions and don't know that this is a BC title... oh wait too late.

Series X
Quality: 50-60fps
Performance: Smooth 60fps with very few dips
Ray-tracing: doesn't hit the 60fps target (the worst mode in performance terms)

Series S
Quality: Below 30fps target
Performance: 40-50fps
Ray-tracing: hits 30fps fairly well (the best mode here)

Conclusion:

So, ultimately, we can't quite achieve the console 60fps dream on Xbox Series consoles with this new patch - and bearing in mind performance levels achieved on Xbox One X, that is a little disappointing.

About the resolution differeces.

Those resolution limits tie into PS4 Pro's equivalent outputs, if you're wondering why they're lower than Series X.

"So, ultimately, we can't quite achieve the console 60fps dream on Xbox Series consoles with this new patch - and bearing in mind performance levels achieved on Xbox One X, that is a little disappointing. However, the experience can still impress: quality mode on Series X when paired with a VRR-capable display certainly delivers the goods. As for PlayStation 5 - we're looking at this as soon as the game updates but pre-release, Crytek told us to expect 1080p60 in performance and RT modes and 1800p60 in quality mode - all with dynamic resolution scaling in place, naturally. Those resolution limits tie into PS4 Pro's equivalent outputs, if you're wondering why they're lower than Series X. It seems that this is a limitation of PS5's 'back-compat plus' feature - but we'll double check on this and report back on overall performance as soon as we can."

These guys don't count resolutions but also agree that the PS5 version looks better overall (but they can't put a finger on why).

Xbox Series X|S India Launch “Most Successful” in Microsoft’s History, Country Is “Key Growth Area” for Xbox

Future prospects for Xbox in India are looking good.

“We’ve seen overwhelming demand from our fans for our new Xbox consoles,” a spokesperson for Microsoft India tells us over email. “The Indian gaming audience is one of the world’s biggest gaming markets and remains a key growth area for the Xbox business. The interest and enthusiasm we are seeing from fans locally is a testament to the growth of gaming in the Indian region and the appetite for newer, different, world-class experiences.”

While Microsoft doesn’t break out sales figures it did give us an indication of how well the Xbox Series X and S have done in India.

“We’re pleased to share that the launch of Xbox Series X and Series S was the most successful in our history,” says a spokesperson from the company of its India launch.

I bought and played it on PS4. I'll buy again on The XsX if it has upgrades. I loved it

I'll be getting the Yuffie episode for sure. Unsure whether I'll play through the original storyline again on the free PS5 Intergrade upgrades yet.

I hope so. I don't have a PS5 and the PS4 version is just running so low spec now. I'd happily replay the whole thing. I'd love to have a PS5, but I just can't justify another console for a while. I'll get one eventually when a bunch exclusives are available

IGN confirms the same.

- XsX and PS5 are somewhere between high and ultra on most settings.
- PS5 has better texture filtering than PC (and XsX).
- Performance is rock solid on both XsX and PS5.
- So far PS5 has a much higher polygon density, textures, and overall IQ that is easily visible compared to the fluctuated resolution comparison.

- Load times
PC with SSD - 4 seconds
XsX - 4.2 seconds
PS5 - 3.5 seconds

Pictures above are worth a thousand words.

Obvious bug, just like what happened with the headlights on the rally game. That it’s happening on both Xbox and PC is very telling it’s a bug and will be patched. As far as actual horsepower being displayed, the Series X is running 30% higher res at the same frame rate.

Ram limitation and it's not the 1st time PS5 and it's because of the superior RAM setup and IO.
XSX lost performance when the extra detail was added with Dirt 5.
The frame rate is a tad bit better with PS5 as well.

It looks like a tessellation issue that should be addressed. On PC texture filtering shouldn't be a concern when you can force a better quality filter using the Nvidia/AMD graphics panel. Why IGN didn't figure this out is a mystery.
