  10. Nintendo Wii-Mote
Behold, the greatest video game controller of them all. Microsoft's second attempt at a high-end gamepad crushes its first thanks to a long-lasting internal rechargeable battery, textured triggers and grip handles, and a much-needed correction of that annoying bumper issue from the first Elite controller, which itself was already a pretty fantastic way to play. So not only does it improve upon the Elite Series 1, it also beats every other controller out there by a country mile with its expansive feature set, comfortable feel, and all-around sturdy design. Grippy concave thumbsticks, an impressive d-pad, adjustable triggers, tons of customization, and more all add up to the Elite Series 2 being the undisputed king of gaming controllers.

But does the Xbox Series Elite 2 have haptic feedback? HA.

Haptic technology, also known as kinaesthetic communication or 3D touch, refers to any technology that can create an experience of touch by applying forces, vibrations, or motions to the user. Wikipedia

But those recent email surveys seem to suggest that their may be a new iteration of an Xbox controller with similar, um, gyrations... maybe like that of the iPhone and or actuators

They should follow Sony. Haptic feedback is 👍 .

I kinda haven't noticed any of the unique aspects of the PS5 controller since the first few days of having the system. Seems more or less inline with a last gen / present gen Xbox controller now. I know it does more on paper, but I don't notice it / devs haven't really utilized it interestingly aside form Astro's Playroom.

Yeah it will probably be up to Sony devs to really take advantage of it. Its great in Astro.

I played Astros play room and didn't think the rumble was all that different than what my Xbox controllers do. I was expecting more given the orgasms people were having over it.

The only real difference, imo, was the resistance triggers. The rumble part I've been experiencing for years. No one has better rumble precision than those Nintendo Switch controllers, imo.

Interesting points here. I’m only posting this here because it seems a stark contrast to what MS is doing. This gen will be different for sure.

I also don’t know why they are re-making TLoU? It holds up great even now.

Don’t really see a problem with Sony focusing on Blockbusters. Surely that’s what has seen their consoles sell like gangbusters. I never played TLOU so a next gen remake is something I’d look forward to when I eventually buy a PS5.

I don't really even notice the resistance triggers all that much either. There's a slight bit of use in Demon's Souls with using bows, but it's difficult to feel unless you only press extremely lightly on the trigger. It's so subtle in Spiderman it's almost irrelevant. I wonder if a lot of the hype about these controllers came from people who hadn't owned a Xbox system last gen and didn't realize most of the features are actually "last gen" at this point.

But but game pass sucks.....

This doesn't mean much. Outriders is still one of the biggest releases this month and not every Xbox owner is subscribed to Gamepass.

I'm more interested in how many units sold and how it relates to the competition.

Look at the rest of the top paid games. Outside of Outriders and It Takes Two, the rest are old games. Outriders being one of the newer and bigger multiplatform games just released would help it be placed on that list. Obviously some of them are on that list because of a sale, but like I said I'm more interested in how many units were actually sold. NPD will tell us more on how it really did. These lists are nice to gauge sentiment but that's it.

Skate 3 on the 360 being on there says a lot. Let's see how many of these titles will do in the NPD report.

These lists are also probably location specific.

NPD doesn’t get access to Microsoft’s internal XBL digital sales, so you will never know.

We will know retail figures estimated as best to NPD's ability as they can report. That's all we can go on if MS never shows their sales figures.
