I think you are confusing the proprietary SSD cards with external SSD's you hook up through USB which both consoles already do. That or games are made to use the SSD speeds for quick loading assets etc won't be able to be played off of every SSD.

Only visual differences were the darker gamma on the PS5 (which is standard he adds) and the flickering light/shadow maps issues on the XSX that happens often. Add to that, the better PS5 performance, he claimed it the winner over all the other consoles.
NXGamer makes an emphasis in the video on the point that resolution is irrelevant beyond a certain point and the CB implementation here is one of the best, rivalling God of War and Guerrilla Game's HZD.

This isn't a like for like for comparison. One is native res and tge other upscaled. The fact the PS5 version has to checkerboard makes it the obvious loser here.
You're right. It's not a like for like because the game is running in BC mode, essentially the PS4 Pro version boosted. We all know how XS can use more of its raw power to show in these BC titles.
The fact they could get the final picture to look virtually the same irrelevant of pixel count and having better performance makes the PS5 version the winner here as shared by IGN's performance analyst NXGamer. It's kind of like how DLSS 4k can look better than native 4k in the Avengers on PC. You're rendering more pixels in native 4k but the DLSS technique made the picture look better.
DF made a boo boo in their 120fps flight sim analysis. The game runs closer to 1/3 - 1/2 of reported frequencies on TV.

The PS5 is rendering less pixels but results in an identical picture to its competitor and better performance to boot. Sounds like a case of good optimization to me.

XSS is better than both . It might be rendering less pixels but it has better performance.
No, the picture isn't as good as either of its bigger brothers XSX and PS5. The XSS has even worse IQ than the PS4 Pro.
This is true. If performance is > quality, then the XSS is the best. If quality is > performance, than XSX is best.
The PS5 didn't have to be checkerboarded the PS4 Pro did, that's the problem with people analyzing these old games that are being run through BC patched or not it gives some people the wrong idea.
There is no PS5 version of the game they've just gone back and raised the limit for the framerate and the resolution that the PS4 Pro had. The Xbox One X always had higher native resolutions and if games weren't checkerboarded for it they won't be when running on the XSX so they've already been given the "win" in the past.
No. The PS5 BC version is the better overall package right now, identical picture to the XSX while having the better performance in general. NXGamer lays it all out in his video with evidence and concludes the PS5 is the best version.
