Digital is the only way to ensure your library carries forward. At some point Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, etc. will be digital only, just like PC is now.
No,no it isn't, physical is.
Digital only is why I barely buy modern games on PC.

Of course the digital option still needs to exist but options need to continue.

Uk is one of the biggest but never mind

You will have to keep your old console when new consoles eliminate Blu-ray drives.

So do people end up buying storage sheds, barns, look for homes with big basements… to store all their physical media? As much as I love my movie collection I’ve accumulated for a couple decades I hate the space it takes up.

I sold all my gaming discs and old DS and 3DS games we had in recent years. Only physical I have left is my old PS2 with a few games I love.

I don’t like that, but it’s painfully seemingly true…. Some stuff may have to be emulated by unofficial means tho

Seems Xbox physical releases are increasing lately. I wonder how that impacts next gen, if they make a console that doesn't have a disc player.
I think that’s why some of their stuff is moving to a coffee in the box, for when they release their portable it’ll be digital only. I just it supports both their current proprietary SSD and NVMEs

It still sucks though, but depending on the game I’ll buy both, digital and physical
